Android 2.3 not perfect, but better. Belle is the same too.

Huh, let me rephrase that. Android 2.3 is far from perfect, but it's getting better. The same thing can be said for Symbian. Let's see what happens next.

Huh, let me rephrase that. Android 2.3 is better, but not that near from perfection. That same thing is happening to Symbian. Let's see what happens next.

Ashura, 02 Aug 2011What lack of features? What crashes? What memory leaks?I don&... moreI didn't know Google had Steve Jobs indoctrination tactics too. This is like an iPhone fan comment for Android phones...
You couldn't be more wrong though, there are countless reports of phones that do not work properly with all functionality of Android, and there are also countless reports of crashing, high battery drain and memory leaks.
The fact that you have not encountered them does not mean it doesn't exist.

AnonD-185, 02 Aug 2011My first question would be, where is your source of informa... moreThe amount of inconsistency in your post is staggering.
First you protest to the idea that the 500 won't have a GPU, then in the very next sentence you tell us that it will be a cheap C-class phone... but that makes it likely there will *not* be a GPU. Nice contradiction.
Then you start about dual-cores, tell everyone how wrong and misinformed they are, and you follow with the most uninformed and blatantly wrong statement of the day; Dual-cores consume more power than singles. Dead wrong, as already explained by others.
You, sir, really shouldn't be commenting like this. And yes, this is an attempt to make YOU use your intelligence. But that can't really be much now, can it?
Have fun burning

You people always claim Nokia for not being innovative. OK umm first 3.5G phone by Nokia. Wifi and 3G in phones around 2003. MP3 and radio at around 2001. Now the first smartphone to ever been operated without any buttons not even capasitive. Everything done by the display. The swipe ul in it. Also first GSM phones ever made by Nokia. If these are not innovative what is?

look way better than current setup on the n8, love the clock plus the battery looks awesome , its veryy good change for the n8, when it does come out it will be a massive download out all updates for n8, and i really hope Nokia don't massive delay the belle update unlike what they are doing with anna.

AnonD-291, 02 Aug 2011Your vista vs win7 analogy is totally flawed because symbia... moreI wasn't comparing Symbian to Win7 as in terms of how much better it is, I was making a point that when an OS is properly optimized, it does not need a ridiculous amount of power to run smooth. Sorry you misunderstood.
Heat is an issue, and it is a basic principal. Though most users don't even know of it. I won't argue that a person who knows how to properly task manage a phone can have Android, or any other device for that matter, running at it's peak always. But the more common user, well most of them don't even know what multitasking is, to say the least.
I would never argue that a new architecture, at no matter how many cores and what kind of a clock speed, can be more power efficient while improving performance by miles. It would be stupid of me to do that. But it still comes down to the OS and how it manages things. The Galaxy S II, with it's 1700mAh battery, still gets drained pretty quickly on a daily use.
And aside from video playback in 1080, and video recording in 1080, is there any other reason to stick so much juice into a phone at the cost of a few hour battery life? You can make the argument that yes, it is needed because a bunch of people, not knowing exactly what they are doing, love to run a million things because, well I am not sure exactly why. Where an argument can be made from the other side that one does not need that much power, if one just takes a little bit of time to learn how to task manage (at least) the phone. But that would appear to be too much work to educate people. And besides, they are mostly all gullible or brain washed (iSheep). What the commercials tell them or what Steve Jobs says, becomes what they believe.
