The problem with Android devices is many manufacturers try to differentiate themselves by placing their own UI which integrates social application which requires constant data push(motoblur) and is graphically intensive(Sense 3.0), which as any one with a slight brain will tell you will use up battery life quite easily. Take for instance the G2x and Nexus S, they're both basically the Optimus 2X and Samsung Galaxy S with the difference of vanilla Android. Guess which phones have optimally better battery life? The plain vanilla android devices.

Now I find it even more funny that you compare Symbian Anna(a version of an OS) to the Desire HD(an actual device) in terms of lag. LOL you fail buddy.

Heard of the news recently? Android makes up 48% of the world's smartphones, if battery life was as bad as you Nokia fanboys exaggerate it to be, then why don't the world use Nokia phones? I mean the average selling price of Nokia "smartphones" is about 130 euros, much cheaper than the so called power hungry Android devices.

The problem here is that everyone keeps thinking about
One handset. I believe Elop said their would be a
Family of handsets released at different price points.
The Sea Ray is just one of them.

Also nowhere does it say that this event is going to be a launch event. I truly believe that you will se handsets on
October 26-27th which falls nicely for Q4

I know whats going to happen at the party. i've got inside info. Here it is: Microsoft is going to announce banckrupcy and Nokia is going to make a takeover, and then Google is going to buy them both for 1 million and a cake. And rename them as subdivision '' Microgoog'' as is going to be managing the whole fleet of janitors, and NOkia is going to be renamed to '' Nokidroid '' and it's main rope is manufacture rubber boots for the whole of google employes. Trust me, i've seen the tri-lateral contract get printed.

People should not compare what's existing now with something that's yet to exist. Saying that iOS and Android is far off better than the soon to relese WP7 Mango. I've experienced using those two OS (iOS and Android) and I can say that in my own perspective, iOS is better than Android but I can't compare these two OS with WP7 Mango until I got one. Im also looking forward to get a MeeGo powered Nokia N9 to see and experience what it has to boast against the OS that's in the comparo.

yes, android will improve but only by adding features which, again, need more power
and the circle is complete, android phones will be lag free someday, but not soon
and ios and wp7 are NOW, even symbian anna is faster that desire hd e.g.
