[deleted post]did you read what i said? open your eyes & read where i said that, it's wiser to have a brilliant phone with a decent camera (5mp) than to have a mediocre phone with a higher mp camera e.g. 8/12mp camera.
don't jump out of nowhere, reading a potion of something & then go ranting about it...

I would surely rather choose the Samsung Galaxy S2 for video performance...

My guess is now living up to expectation, their next release should be the "bomb!"

[deleted post]i bought the phone when it was released myself genius! so what is your point there?
i already said that N95 was a good phone for it's time, do you know how to read? don't jump in the middle of a conversation & think you know it all.
plus, even if i didn't like the N95, why are you so desperate to force me to like it?
calling me a stupid & then you go on acting like one, oh the irony...

Sun Down, 03 Aug 2011Here's an advice: ignore the guy. He's gonna bash anything ... moreoh here comes the official GSMArena therapist! lol
i used Nokia phones myself, i just don't blindly follow a brand unlike some people here, even though when the brand fails to live to it's expectation(s)!
like i said, you can call me whatever you want for not following a brand blindly, call me a hater or blah blah blah but, i am fond of good phones, whether that comes from Nokia/SE/Apple/Samsung/LG/HTC etc. not necessarily going to hail every single piece of handset that a brand brings out in the name of loyalty!
loyalty is one & being a sheep is another.

[deleted post]Here's an advice: ignore the guy. He's gonna bash anything that's remotely Nokia, no matter how obvious a person's preferrence is.
Moving towards topic: I saw this on My Nokia Blog. Loved the colours and details captured by the N9. This will be even more awesome when doing something like biking across the forest floor due to the stereo microphones.

N9 is a very good device although Elop stop Meego, but people never satisfied with their own, people always want more and more improvements. So if you want a really awesome camera buy digital camera or handycam not N9 or N8 or samsung galaxy S2, and if you are gamers buy PSP or NDS not smartphone with their s*it GPU... don't underestimate others because they're outdated, people should critism Nokia to make them grow up & think smart, not critism to make Nokia Go down...

Here is what I gathered from this video.
1. Holding a cell phone still is a difficult task.
2. The camera's lens is poor at handling direct, bright light. (Lens Flare). In many "flare" shots, the image is masked with a gray veil, greatly reducing the contrast of the image. HOWEVER - Compared to other cameras, it probably handles flare just as well or better.
3. It has good auto-exposure in high contrast situations well.
4. The person who chose the clips was bad, and should have avoided some of the shakey and flare scenes.
What wasn't shown:
1. How/If the camera white balances for different rooms.
2. How/If the camera handles exposure changes mid-video.
3. Performance in anything less than sunlight.
4. Performance and CMOS "Wobble" reduction in moving objects or when panning.
All in all, pretty good. I'm a little bit disappointed in the clips chosen given that this is from Nokia, and represents Nokia, but if its just taken as a standard review video, it seems impressive.
Good work.

AnonD-3441, 03 Aug 2011I have one serious complain/question regarding N9 camera. W... moreOn the screen.
The main advantage of a physical camera button is the ability to half press for focussing before taking the shot. The n9 has continous auto focus in still so the camera focuses on the object in its focus area once opened and there on continues to adjust its focus as u move around.
While it still would be better to have a dedicated button, its just not as much a con here.

Developers don't need to code in meego, they can easily code in Qt and have it on the n9 and nokia symbian devices.
The device isn't out yet yet it already has over a hundred dedicated apps and about a thousand that should be compatible.

namez bond, 03 Aug 2011thank you for proving my point yet again that, Nokia only f... moredon't be rude mate. I love my symbian with free navigation and superb camera! And the built it apps out of the box. The N9 is simple and might be boring to use. But I'm sure the OS is very Well built. You go buy what you want and i will do the same.

Yet this will only be giving to certain areas of the world and will be kicked to the curb just after it's debut right? This makes no sense the N9 is one of the most significant devices in Nokia's line up, and has the potential to single handily make them stand out again but no. The Camera on this is crazy amazing espeically since nothing has been applied. They should just ship it like thatl

AnonD-13949, 03 Aug 2011What a nice lie! They filmed it with another camera and cl... moreYou've no evidence to support your claim. Besides, Nokia would completely fall apart if they are advertising is full of lies. If your brain saw that well, you would understand that it was definitely from a phone. The hand of the person capturing the video was shaking all the time, and it was done in broad daylight, so you can't say that there was an external flash being used. Du'h.
