Nicolas F, 13 Feb 20181. Replacing the battery is a matter of half an hour in the... moreah well, luxembourg is a tiny country but it has the second highest minimum salary wage in europe. My monthly salary exceeds beyond the minimum salary since i work for the same company for more than 8 years.
To put it simple, with my monthly salary i can afford 2 iphone X every month and still have money for the expenses.
For me, it's way cheaper and much faster simply buying a new phone and selling my other for half the price.

2. Battery degradation for a smartphone reveals after 400-500 cycles of recharging - about 2 years.
3. If you can sell used Android smartphone for 80% of its cost (to spend "not so much" on a new flagship) - you're a lucky person, but I doubt it's possible.
4. To place too much importance on the "beauty and novelty" of your smartphone is a very questionable practice. However, to each his own :)

And you still call those "flagships"??? People like you are the reason why quality smartphones are becoming less and less.
Buying smartphones isn't a matter of "class warfare". If anyone uses a phone to validate their self worth, they actually have bigger problems that a phone can't solve.

I w... moreI live in luxembourg. I change the phone so i can experience different options, the feel of the phone, the grip, the beauty. I always go naked with a phone, no case, only a screen protector and on most of them i had a dbrand skin.
Right now on my oneplus 5T i have the red dragon skin from dbrand and it looks amazing.
I always sell my previous phones so i don't spend much money on a new one.
Changing battery for me is no option since i won't have a phone to use and nor do i do the replacements myself. It's cheaper for me to get a new one and selling the old one.

Sometimes i use GPS to when i need to go somewhere i am not sure where the location is and how to get there. Reading news to sometimes when i have time at work. But it's not like that i am stuck in the screen in every moment possible like the most now days are.

Yes it's really difficult to see new phones arriving in the market although your current one is absolutely fine and even better than them in certain aspects like camera. But brands know how to sell new stuff by making cosmetic changes and playing with numbers without any real upgrade.

I w... more i beat u dude, im still using samsung galaxy s3 mini as we speak right now, lmao
1gb worth of RAM, and 8gb of storage, include OS stuff, became 6ish gb
use it for almost 5 years now, never break even for once, never replace battery, never service what so ever. battery life still reasonable. 100% in the morning, with casual use, goes to 20ish percent at around 9pm
so yeah 6 years is possible, but u have to endure the pain of sight seeing another new release phone

The majority of population will buy mid range or low range and have it for at least 2 years and they leash it for a year or 2 even. I for one use phones mainly 2 years or more and i dont leash anything. If i dont have that free money to spend i dont need the device. I always buy out the phones and any device i own so i go with up to 250 euro phones. I dont play games on phones so i dont need the flagship phones to make calls and have better camera that i use maybe few times a month.
Whats the point to spend more money on a device when you use only maximum of 10% of what's it capable.

I would. And, seriously, if this particular phone is good and has no issues - why not?
I have now my iPhone 5s for 4 years. The only two things that ceased to please me (and only in last year) and I can't change in it are little screen and memory capacity (16gb was a mistake..).
Also, the previous was HTC Desire S, and it hardly lived a year, something broken in the screen. And Nokia E51 still works :D

Its definitely the Redmi 5 and the Plus model. There is no way in hell Xiaomi is going to release a new phone without unveiling it first on China.

I've gone for many, many phones. galaxy nexus, nexus 5, samsung s5, nexus 6p, oneplus 3T, oneplus 5, oneplus 5T.
I like flagship bargains and experience how my time with these phones went.
TBH, my favourite were the Nexus 5, Nexus 6P and now the oneplus 5T.
This year i might go with the oneplus 6
Phones nowadays don't even work for 6 years. As soon as i see a battery degradation i change the phone for a new one.
