Tango., 13 Feb 2018Agree. I know nobody cares about what each of us truly thin... more The reason it would be really sad is because they are causing themselves to struggle. However after learning the truth about their customer support and a few other factors and how they hold themselves back i don't think their profits suffer as much as people think. Which is how they are still steady.
However if they made device like this just for the masses but only as a side device while keeping their regular true flagship that would be acceptable.

And sorry. Oled is overall far superior and is not been proven to be faulty. It's been proven to be better.
Sorry but lcd can suffer image retention. Most notably, but not limited to in lg and Sony.
It also tends to have more uneven lighting and light bleed.
And lcd suffer with backlight issues which oled doesn't have to worry about. And pixel issues have seemed far more susceptible on lcd.
There is no such thing as perfection.

vrvly, 13 Feb 2018Nope, they got different tech so aperture is not a problem.... moreYeah no. That's just a denial and childish reply.
Again. They are behind with aperture. And of story. It's simply true and has nothing to do with other brands for you to bash. Unless you count in the fact the reason it's known they behind is because others are ahead in this aspect and have been. And terrible processing? You clearly haven't used others or seen results from them.
And every single person on the internet knows Sony's processing only more recently improved.

I hope the camera is f/2.5 or a little upgrade and designs sucks by the way.

Their first priority should be Customer Service, which is pathetic. I recently submitted my phone in the local service centre for dead pixel issue. The service centre replaced my phone with old and faulty one with different different IMEI number. Now the service centre isn't ready to take it back neither sony is taking any action. No more sony again.

Anonymous, 13 Feb 2018I just hope Sony continues to improve well and even better.... moreI really love what they did with the XA series Omnibalance design... and Sony in their build quality is unique to me - Can't understand yet why the XA2 Ultra merges EIS + OIS and even a front Led flash for selfies... while a phablet-like in the flagship category with more bessels, in spite of having the dual front-facing stereo speakers though... doesn't have enough room for it... I don't care if it's bulky or the bessels continue... just want them to be justified! Don't care gimmicks or fashion trends... just practical usage and that seemed to be the Sony policy until now and the classy differentiation they have among others...

A lot will happen with the USB-C type output for audio in the DRM department... many are not considering this and prefer it due to the aesthetics, a tiny space filled for a total splash protection and because the analog output it's "old"

The only people who think modern Samsung phones don't lag are the brain dead idiots. The build quality was of the S7 Edge was garbage. The fingerprint sensor is mushy when you press it considering my phone was new. The volume/power buttons get mushy quickly. The UI looks appealing mostly to kids with the silly colours. The glass back sucks with all of the fingerprints. I dropped my phone from my chair to my floor on laminate flooring and the screen had gone faulty. It developed a purple vertical line on the screen. There were no scratches or dents on the phone to show it had been dropped. Gladly Samsung fixed this free of charge. Samsung are seriously cheaply made phones and I will never buy another one again. I didn't know what I was missing out on until I upgraded :)

HP, 13 Feb 2018Wireless charging we have currently is purely gimmick where... moreAgree. I know nobody cares about what each of us truly thinks or feels when chosing a flagship phone, moreover one that many of us will continue to keep after 3 years, and why not, make it future-proof with a custom room at XDA...

Having said that... IMO if Sony follows the actual trends just for the sake of profit, or even to reduce it's downfall in it's struggling mobile division only to appeal a major audience... it will lose even much more market share and many loyals (like me) will select older flagships or switch to another brand - A lot of people is playing a "wait n' see" strategy due to the upcoming MWC in February 26...

But... what if the rumors became true... a bezeless phone which will ditch the 3.5mm jack (with no planned upgrade to a 4.4mm output) and the holy dongle-thingy attached to the USB-C type? (we know their bundles, even on flagship ones in most regions are just the basic stuff, so for one to get a hand on it and enjoy a truly "better" sound experience, noise cancelling, high-res compatible audio via DSEE, get a grip to yourself and spend even more money?)

With an AR of 18:9? And such the implementation of an OLED panel with an LG provided matrix? Really? Throw away an amazing IPS LCD 4K HDR display just for a different design and deeper blacks? A technology that has been proven to be faulty and die of burn-ins after a while?

No FM radio/RSS feed comeback... no QCharge v4.0, a dual camera that may still have the same postprocessing problems and the same algorythm on their main/rear, 18mp IMX400 sensor? The same aperture? The same, limited, camera UI with it's manual mode being a joke and no RAW option?

No more double tap to wake... and... please; God forbid it... the fingerprint scanner on the back?!

Clearly they could improve the aperture. plain and simple. It's a factual statement. Not a bash, not a dig. You're life shouldn't feel threatened by such a tiny statement. You don't have to bring other brands into it trying to feel superior and wanting war.

Look at Mi7 from xiaomi no jack no gorrila glass no sd card slot no this no that and a price of a phone with the newest SD845 has been squeezed to 350 euros.
If Sony put everything into the phone and will sell it for lets say 800 eur what do you think?
Who sells much more devices and earn more money? Sony or Xiaomi.
To be honest and i really want to say many or lets say most customers dont need these add-ons or lets say features which makes your phone a lot more expensive.
If a basic customer with no passion for a phone technology comes to my shop and see a xiaomi 4A with a 32GB disk space 2GB ram and 12 Mpix back shooter on a 100 eur pricetag he wont hesitate and buy it even if next to this phone will be for example Samsung J3 2017 with a 150 eur pricetag or Huawei P9 lite mini for 150 eur.
On paper specs are almost same for basic customers with no or minimum passion in phone technology.
So compared to 20 other flagships from 20 other brands Mi7 will come as a victor of the battle.

AnonD-731363, 13 Feb 2018Hope for no headphone jack or no buy :-) Hoping for a triangle 27:10:10 screen, or no buy.
Com on Sony, this is 2018, and triangles are a trend.
