Honestly, if you like it, you like it. If you hate it, you hate it. That's it. Just like some people like Apple, no matter what "gate" (bent gate, battery gate) they have, they will still like it. If the phone is good, so what?

Shady company. At lease they didn't tell their "beta testers" to leave bad review for other phones. Or did they?

As someone who works for one of the biggest corporations in the world, I can safely say it IS very likely a miscommunication...this happens to a degree that is ridiculous no even imagine, but mostly stuff related to internal procedures, not that often it reaches outside to make it in the press.
At the end of the day however, I personally don't care at all about fake reviews or who copied what, or who an OEM is...I want to know "is this decide worth the money it asked for?"...which will be easy to tell once the device is out.

Anonymous, 14 Feb 2018come on: it's just a case of misunderstanding, it's clearly... moreYeah it's by mistake they told people to do it in Best Buy Pre sale listing, they didn't know their users can write why they want Mate 10 Pro in a damn FB post or on their own effing page or on Reddit or millions of other ways..... This is shady, the only benefit of doubt is that it doesn't quite openly say 'Write Positive Review' but any one with some sense would not post 'I want mate 10 pro because it sucks bad and i want to make jokes about it'..... It's a bad PR, very shady practice to create artificial buzz....

I thought reviews are reserved for buyers only? Some sites allow reviews from buyers and non-buyers and in that case a review from a buyer is labelled that the person who posted the review bought the product.

Huawei thinks nobody will catch their dirty tactics. Good that the US didn't trust them all along.

I'm really sick of them pushing this crappy overpriced POS. I wanted the Mate 10, but apparently they insist on us buying the "pro" (lame) version and refuse to sell the better one. Well, no Mate 10, no buy.

View 10 is decent too...can't be found either.

Anonymous, 14 Feb 2018No. Its because that's clearly a practice of Unfair competi... moreAnd you think this kind of thing only happening now ( or only happens with the Chinese company that trying to sell their phones/or other stuff here in the US)?
As the other guy already mentioned it, it is happening for a long time in many of those online retailer website, and no one give a damn! But, as the other dude also mentioned it, while America keep on trying to say the Chinese phone company are spying on Americans ( if you purchase one). And that the US also try everything to make sure 95% of the Chinese phone can't sell it here in the US. Imagine if China pull one off like this, if Apple can't sell any phone in China anymore, people will go nuts.

Bestbuy still selling some of the huawei and zte phones ( budget to mid range), so for this it is completely understandable that they won't put bestbuy in the spot to blame, as the US carries are most likely won't sell many of the Chinese phone ( especially while being accused of spying).

So somewhat I like how xiaomi's take on selling phones in the US, if the US really goes all out to stop the Chinese phone to sell in the US, they simply stop trying to get in here, and just sell their phones to other countries.
