Why not Snapdragon 845? SD835 is obsolete. No one will want to buy it.

Im a samsung user from past three years(tab s10.5).It still performs well.I love samsung. But now what people need is something special, something unique from all tablets.I got a awesome design and it is,if samsung made a tablet with 10.5 inch infinity display(s7 edge design),dual cameras,64,128,256 gb storage,6 gb ram and snapdragon 845. It will rock! I wish if samsung made it real it will be the coolest tablet ever!

AnonD-97496, 21 Feb 2018Android is great on phones, but on tablets, it's absolutely... moreIf only Android was customizable (unlike IOS or Windows) ... oh wait it is! Better buy the locked down OSes which experience is completely controlled by their mother companies... standards.

Great replacement for ma Galaxy Tab S 10.5! I replaced newer one with it to get panoramic screen but it is a bit weak in games.

I have an ipad mini 2. Even if it is old. It doesn't lag. Nor crashes. My mother used it to watch a lot of dramas. And play games in it.

Use whatever suits you, but if you are going to make blanket statements provide something to back them up, otherwise it just comes across as fanboism, and nobody needs that.

Anonymous, 22 Feb 2018Chrome os is super popular, so it is not dying...
It barely exists in most places of the world. Without the government/educational contracts it would had already died.
Nobody in his right mind buys a Chrome OS ... OK very few would. Most prefer a full OS for productivity (Mac/Windows) , or a proper OS for content consumption (iOS, android too if it is taylored). Chrome OS is literally covering no need other than forcing Microsoft start running Windows on top of ARM...

Anonymous, 22 Feb 2018Yeah i'm sure you have all the stats. Tablet market is not ... moreI have a big screen phone. It's nothing like a tablet. Completely different use cases.
Phones are for communication and basic browsing and media viewing.
Tablets are for browsing, reading, media viewing and basic productivity.
Laptops are for real productivity but not much else
So , yeah, distinct uses.
Never said that tablets are dying. I said android tablets do. Their profitability are through the floor (and below). iPads are soaring in sales (and profits) because they play alone, that is what I said.

... moreSelf-fullfiling prophecy.
OEMs don't make more of them because "it's crap" ... so they're crap because more OEMs don't make them... Nice
Up until 2015 the best tablets by far were android and if you hadn't used them it was your loss.
Still using a Note tablet from 2013 and does things that still few/no other does. It's unbearably slow at this point (2013 hardware, Samsung software) but it's unsurpassed in uses.
Then you have the Xperia Z4 tablet. That's still faster than most ipads, far lighter and in its early days lasted more (good luck finding a new battery that is genuine these days).
The android as OS, is pretty customizable. So you can get all the goodies that Google does not put in on purpose (gotta push that cancer of a closed environment, Chrome OS).
From more aptle environment on apps (hello per-app DPI change), to gesture navigation (GMD and co ), to appropriate launcher (fully customizable ones, like Nova) ... too bad that those do not come by default because Google has to push one of her worst idea that is currently working on (that pseudo OS, that is actually a glorified browser).
Heck you can even get an environment for keyboard/mouse use (Remix OS and derivatives).
Of course you wouldn't know, you're one of those who uses android out of the box. And since Google wants android tablets to suck, you repeat the same tale that she tells you.

Android tablets are all pretty much cr*ap, so why bother?
If you want a $500 tablet that you can use, just get a used iPad.
If you want the best tablet, get the newest iPad.
If you want a $100-$150 tablet, just get a really old iPad - it will work better than any Android tablet in that price range.
If you want a tablet below the $100 mark, you can get an amazing Amazon Fire tablet. Still Android, but without any Google cr*p on it.
No matter what they do to them, Android tablets will always have a hiccup now and then, will always lag every time you push them, and will always force close apps, redraw the homescreen, and stutter along when doing random stuff on them.
So:
- cheap tablets = Amazon Fire 7", 8", 10"
- working tablets over $100 = used iPads
- perfectly working tablets = iPads released in the last 3 years

it would be foolish to switch back to 1.6:1.
1.33:1 looks the best. not too long when holding on hands.
no matter in landscape mode or in portrait mode, the another side is not too long.
1.33:1 is the best ratio for reading contents.
in landscape mode, if it is 1.6:1, the content area would be just too short, if opened the on screen keyboard.
for those who want watching videos, better go with the large desktop screen. don't be stuck on such small screen. such small screen was a great tool for reading, inputting texts. the magazine especially. Apple knew it.

Anonymous, 22 Feb 2018Samsung tablets have half the specs of a phone? What? I've ... moreI don't know how you're reading this or how you're interpreting it or if you're intentionally seeking hostility, but let me just make this clear. The S3 32 gig version is $750 here like I just said, though that average seems to exceed $800 if you look at more options. the one plus 5 on the other hand for the same price has twice the memory, 128 gigs UFS2.1 which is of course made by Sammy, SD835 and it has a decent camera too! along with a nice Oled screen, and guess what? you're paying less for more!. OP5 wouldn't be my first choice of a comparison but it's one example of so many which I could present. Give it a month and we'll probably have devices with the SD845 and what I've stated about price to performance will continue to be the case, only the gap will widen even further with devices getting 512 gigs + 10 for memory. If you can get it for a good price then that's good for you, but that's not the case here nor have I seen anything on the android side worth the money since the shield tablet which of course was years ago.

Tablet market is not dying, it's just because no one change the damm device every year or 2 years. Some people don't even need a tablet but buy 1 and only use it like a couple of times a month. Llater on they realize all they just need is a big screen phone. It has nothing to do with Chome OS at all since probably outside of US, no one else really has a Chromebook.

If that is so I would love for them to get it in the smaller version just like the tab S2 had the 8-inch version I would love for the tablets to come and 8-inch version as well with their own chipset or you can have it with the same bands like they have so we can be working on AT&T 4G system
