I thought Sony will not go for stupid 18:9 ratio and as Sony is king in sound quality I thought they will preserve 3.5mm Jack. But it is very disappointing to look at these spec leak. I pray that these leaks are not true.

"The Xperia XZ2 reportedly upgrades the XZ Premium camera to f/1.8 aperture (down from f/2.0)." You can't call this a camera upgrade without knowing the sensor size. Or do you think that an f/2 smartphone camera is also an upgrade for an f/4 medium format camera?

I don't really mind the absence of wireless charging on the compact. I couldn't be bothered by its presence (or lack thereof). The deal breaker for me is the absence of both sterol speakers and the 3.5 mm jack. Regardless of the new Bluetooth audio technology Sony has introduced, the vast majority of Bluetooth headsets don't support this so not having a jack to output quality audio is a real kicker.
Somehow I really hope the information isn't entirely correct and the product yet to be released will have different characteristics from the leaks received so far. If it turns out to be right then I'll stick with my Xperia Z3 Compact and sit this new one out.

Considering that Sony has been hyping up their line of new Bluetooth headphones, I wouldn't be surprised that the jack is long gone. :-(

All who whine about design seriously. What do you expect exactly? Did you expect "another" design in the like of Nokia's N-Gage in the past? Did you want the comeback of forms such as clamshell, slider, or physical keyboard?
It's generally harder now to make more variable design than it was in the past because of the touchscreen. The screen now eats up a phone's body, especially with the so-called "bezelless and tall display trend", so there's no other option besides the usual "candybar" or "slab-like" form we have now. Besides the components like camera, flash, FPS placement, there's no other move that designers can make. That's why all phones look nearly similar to each other nowadays. If you really want a revolutionary design, just wait until the foldable phone comes in. Then you may want to impress your friends with your origami skills using such phone.

Other smartphones that have vertical dual cam on left upper back body but has flash or other enchanments location difference = Auto iPhone X clone.
Sony Xperia XZ2 put back camera with FPS vertically but has Flash and other enchanments location difference = Auto Redmi Note 3 clone?
That's why you need shut up about smartphone design. What do you expect? Putting horizontal dual cam on left upper back body? Or Put Camera and FPS horizontal on middle back body?

Extremely disappointed. If this is Mirai, then RIP Sony Mobile. Camera placement is worse, design is a blatant copy of Nokia/HTC and top/bottom bezels still aren't as small as S8 (already 1 year old phone), side fingerprint is gone (huge downgrade), phone is probably much fatter than Z3 and barely manages 3180mAh battery, don't even see mutli-tone flash, NFC and NFC logo placement is very odd. Sony's been on a downtrend since the Z3, they still haven't been able to make a flagship better in all aspects than even a 4 year old phone.

Anonymous, 24 Feb 2018Sony's UI sucks anyway, XZ2 will be tainted with crappy out... moreThe LCD does not emit ionizing radiation and TA partition can be backed up and restored. Also XZ2 is most likely OLED. I agree though that Sony should get rid of this DRM crap because it adds a lot of annoying extra steps to root and its just simply unnecessary.
