Windows Phone will succeed for the simple fact that it's better than android. Carriers are pushing Google's platform like crazy at the moment just because it happens to be the BUZZ word, however, once consumers quickly realize how crappy the OS actually is, they'll abandon it in droves. "Android" is yet another passing fad; It's destined to become synonymous with other huge names of yesteryear such as "Rubik's Cube", "SEGA", "Atari", and "BetaMax".

Does it ever crossed your mind that OEMs like Samsung and HTC puts Android as their primary OS? So far there's no OEM that want's to put WP7 as their primary, but now Nokia and possibly Motorola. I don't think WP7 is doomed next year and decades after that unless MS released WP8.

Windows Phone 7 phones might not be flying off the shelves yet but it’s way too early to write it off. Considering that its less than a year old and it’s had to shake of the woeful spectre of Windows Mobile 6.5 (which was truly detestable), it’s coming along very nicely.
Apple and Google may not have any sleepless nights for the time being, but in two years time there will be three major smartphone ecosystems.
And I can almost guarantee there will be a good fight between those 3.
Right now, there are WP7 phones available to buy from HTC, LG, Samsung and Dell. In the future we'll see devices from Nokia, Acer, Fujitsu and ZTE. More manufacters will mean more competition, more choice and presumably lower prices. If Microsoft open their licenses as Android there will be a very different history. But the strong point for Android is theses OS stills free....Can Microsoft fight against that?
For other part, Not allways free is better or best. The best example is Apple. How a closed system can be a hit. Is better quality over quantity? :P

They need to change how the media view their WP7 phones for the better because most people there (and throughout the world) seems to follow whatever the media tells them.

Android and iOS never saw a decline buddy, they had "stagnant" moments where they held ground but never a decline. So the only one who "shot their own foot" here is you. Back up your claims, I have market share data for the past 2-3 years to back up my statement, I also have NEW marketshare data to back up the DECLINE of WP7 since its launch, this is contrary to the fact that it RELEASED on multiple carriers and had multiple manufacturers at LAUNCH, where as Android = 1 small us carrier, 1 small manufacturer support at launch and with Apple they launched on only one carrier and were ridiculously expensive compared to their competitor yet both companies growth.

mind telling me how you see WP7 succeeding then? It offers nothing that iOS and Android doesn't offer aside from Xbox Live integration, its UI is the weakest of all three. I see a lot of people remark on how it's the "fastest" growing app market, how about take into consideration a lot of the "new" apps are ports of android and iOS apps already developed?

Google has never made any money off of Android's distribution or marketshare. They don't profit from Android's success as a whole rather from search revenues brought by android which is not even a fraction of what their desktop search revenues bring in.
WP7 is doomed, not even the fabled "mango" will do much to save it. To the general public, multi tasking doesn't matter much, iphone didn't have multitasking until recently and guess what? Iphone sales are well beyond what WP7 is and will be.

NOKIA should rethink their strategy about releasing the N9. After all, there are at least 2 android fanboys, george and baily, who won't buy this handset - doomed from the start imo.

1. When Android appears in market, Google doub about Android suceed, even they was about to throw the towel in termns of sales since T Mobile wasn't happy enough with the first results, however good for Android they decide goes to more markets and not just keep their os on Googles G1 Dream...good move....I still missing my TMobile My Touch Fender my first Android device :D
But WP7 wasn't good enough to keep masses, I don't know if Mango can or Not, but will be interesting since Microsoft learn too many lessons in thir history with WP7 to update Mango and make it better, only time can decide.
2. The Opteron/Phenom and newers AMD are not a la par with intel i series and newer processors, AMD loss too much ground in the effor to keep em on top. The response of intel was wise..Better processors at lower prices...AMD stills in 2010 era.
This can be the same for WP7 and Android, there a lots of posibilities, but I can't assume WP7 Mango can be better or worst, only buyers will decide, BUT the new Mango looks promising...

What a shame. Once again nokia screws up a half decent thing. They are on the path to self destruction. They had a amazing opportunity with the n900 and screwed it too. i used Nokia for five years but now Im done.

1. Android launched on one carrier(the smallest of all the US carriers, T-Mobile), and only one device, HTC G1, whereas WP7 launched on multiple LARGE carriers, and with multiple devices at the SAME TIME.
The problem with intel was that they used a crappy architecture with the P4 system, also I don't know where you've been reading this but NO ONE doubted they would come back and reclaim the crown against AMD. Intel is much more massive than AMD, and also has the money to throw at research and development. The Core Duo series launched back in 2004 and was already more efficient than the Athlon x2 and more powerful.

However Reviews based on Vaporware, aren't sane for anyone...reliable sources like GSMArena are good...But I don't like sheep anyone without testit by my self...since I read around goodies and pests about Mango and they aren't even use it in real...
