Hey Samsung, if you are gonna price it close to the Iphone X, then sorry I am out of it. Have been a proud owner of Samsung Note 3 for last 05 years, wanting to change now to the S9 despite loosing the IR Blaster and the Stylus, please do not make people run away by your crazy pricing. Otherwise, there are better options coming our way, like the Oneplus 6, Sony's new lineup, Honor phones etc...

They loose no time, that for sure. Probably are affraid. Nokia perhaps? After all, they did everything to put nokias presentation from yesterday out of the radar.

It's also gone on pre-order here in Europe, and the prices have shot straight into iPhone X territory. I WAS going to trade in my S8+ but I think I'll pass. Samsung is obviously not interested in keeping their 'flagship' devices up to date (still no Oreo), and now they want Apple money for their gear as well.
AND they're not even on the Google 'Enterprise' list.
I have one of their 'current' Tab S3's as well, and here support does not seem to be forthcoming either.
I don't mind paying 'premium' prices, but then I want 'premium' support.
I'll probably go back to Sony, or wait for the Pixel 3. But I've gone off Samsung. Which is kind of a shame, as I'm shopping for a new TV as well.

          Pete

sr777, 26 Feb 2018So all you want is something to impress people, not somethi... moreYes, I want iPhone not Samsung due to whatever reason of mine. If Samsung will differentiate it's flagship models the I may give a thought. Who said Samsung is better than the Notch.

never .. owning a Note 8 - no oreo , no security update .. its as good as a basic phone.
Company who takes more than 6 month to make a skin on top of OS should be avoided.

Even if you have S9 in your hand people will ask is it note / 8 plus or something? Now that will prompt me to go for The Notch. At least people will notice that I have latest apple model. And Samsung wonders why their flagship doesn't sell as expected.

Onyxia, 26 Feb 2018The S9/S9+ is actually cheaper than the S8/S8+Indian pricing is always high for iphone and galaxy flagship... Still better to wait for official pricing

Phylyp, 26 Feb 2018I'd say that people in India should steer clear of pre-book... moreThe S9/S9+ is actually cheaper than the S8/S8+

I'd say that people in India should steer clear of pre-booking until the prices are revealed.

Samsung would be using this pre-booking information to determine which variants/colours are to be made available in volume (which is good), but will also use the pre-booking data to influence pricing (so a lot of interest in the S9+ would mean a bigger price gap between them).

Give this pre-booking a cold shoulder, and they'll have to assume interest is lower, and end up pricing it better.

Granted, this won't bring the prices down to OnePlus territory, but it might just help prices running away uncontrolled.
