Fongy, 12 Aug 2011You see, M$ should really have learned from iOS - when they... moreyou obviously haven't use WP before..its much smoother than android -.-" so using the launcher does not make ur phone experience as great as having WP itself

Fongy, 12 Aug 2011You see, M$ should really have learned from iOS - when they... moreIt took two years for Apple to implement MMS, video capture (only for 3GS and beyond) and copy/paste, 3 years to implement multitasking (and idiotic, too) and we are still waiting to implement delivery report for SMS. Needless to say that all of this are actually fundamental functions of the mobile phones for about 10 years, even low end phones, not something that makes it a smartphone. Much to learn from Apple, yes.

Joe Belfiore tweeted this morning say it was just a rumor.

I'm interested to see how Mango and Sea Ray pan out, but what I really want to know is how well Mango works outside the US. The current WP7 release has all sorts of broken stuff if used outside the US, to the point where it's not a great choice for non-Americans however spiffy the platform may be.

You see, M$ should really have learned from iOS - when they first started there was no MMS, no GPS, no multitasking, etc. etc. - and in order to compete nowadays these have to be STANDARD - multitasking in particular... especially in a smart phone... (not so smart without it)
The fact that it's taken almost a year(?) to just get this feature is a massive fail...
Forget apps for a minute - if the actual OS cannot compete on a basic level to competitors, then why on earth would you choose it?
NOW couple with this fact that games are ridiculously priced thanks to M$ and apps are severely lacking...
It's not an attractive package...
I can get Launcher 7 on Android - and it's virtually identical to WM7, but with all the Android goodness in the background...
Why would I want to limit myself to it all the time?
This in itself could spell disaster for Nokia, nevermind M$... :(

AnonD-8312, 12 Aug 2011Seriously, I love the WP7 OS- Its clean, its futuristic and... moreActually, the concept of ''apps are everything'' (though it's one of the smartphone's exclusive features) is strongly preached by Apple, and it seems that it's implemented firmly onto you. I guess it's a psychological warfare of what's most important for a smartphone and who can preached it the most. Whether it's the UI experience, apps and whatnot. Anyway, I say WP7 won't be released on the 1st of September. More like mid-late September.

Seriously, I love the WP7 OS- Its clean, its futuristic and its smooth as butter. But the lack of apps is what brings this house of cards down. WP7 really need to give some developers motive so that they will start making apps for WP7. Even the 25K apps they have is all mostly BS. I love windows and swear by it, but this is just ridiculous- an update with multitasking and copy-paste is not what will fix WP7- it is apps- like the app store or andriod market.
