Sun Down, 13 Aug 2011Quite subjective, but statistics did showed the N8 and othe... morei don't know what statistic said and i don't care. i trust only my ears: iphone 4, ipod touch 4, nokia n91 are the most powerful mobile devices and with the best sound quality i have ever heard. i tested hundred of models of mp3 and mobiles and i know what i am talking about. ipod shuffle 1st generation without any sound eq was also a superb piece of art, but it is gone

Beats on HTC like Arkamys in Sagem, just a marketing gimmick to make the users buy those products, another technology like this is Samsung ICE Power by Bang & Olufsen.

Agreed with previous comments. Owned the beats headphones before and they were garbage. They should've partnered with a well known studio monitor producing company

Officialy, this move means HTC has dumped Dolby & SRS. Bold move indeed but why pick Beats Audio? My experience with an HP Envy featuring Beats Audio did not impress me. A better bet is for HTC to opt for Wave Maxx Audio or Bang & Olufsen. Don't believe me? Try testing speakers from Dell XPS 15 and Asus N series.

Did they consider Bose before saying Beats has a good quality?

i think htc should focus on camera and speaker loudness !!

Beats can be played by almost anything, but not anything can produce the good deep bass.

This really doesn't mean as much as people think. First off, carrying the "Beats" stamp doesn't mean anything in terms of internal speaker quality. I have an HP laptop with "Beats" audio, and the internal speakers + subwoofer sound like absolute crap. I even prefer the audio pumped from the single speaker of my wife's Samsung Galaxy S2 to my laptop speakers. I imagine it's supposed to pertain to the built-in sound enhancement software which is really nothing more than some glorified EQ presets to enhance bass and so on. I highly doubt the speakers themselves are of any higher quality than the ones used on non-Beats models, and I know for a fact the laptop uses the same audio chipset as do non-Beats models.

Honestly, when I first got my new laptop home I was excited to hear (for a change) some decent audio pumped from the speakers, and hoped that maybe the audio would be good enough for movies and music when not tethered to my external speakers. I was very disappointed. So much so, in fact, that I thought about returning the laptop. Once I got over that, and after a very brief google search, I found the settings in Windows 7 that allowed me tailor the audio to my liking. They sound better now... almost good enough to watch a movie in bed without an external speaker, but still not quite. Hooking up a single $20 portable speaker pod to the laptop still greatly improves the sound quality, and yes, even the bass.

Apparently the Beats moniker doesn't mean much for headphones either. I have a 5-year old pair of Sennheiser HD485's that I paid around $100 for. The sound they put out greatly exceeds even Beats' flagship over-the-ear headphones, which run around $400. Bottom line is, Beats audio means nothing in terms of sound quality. It's simply a wanna-be THX certification (only for music instead of movies), and it really only appeals to the younger, more fad-influenced generation. I wouldn't ever purchase another product with the Beats moniker... ever.

"HTC and Beats Audio join forces to make music the focus for future HTC devices."
There's more to it than that. More like a PR move, something that leans more on the political and psychological.
Samsung and HTC are like conquistadores on a foreign land (US). They are outsiders. They want to blend in.

It's the long-term effects HTC are looking for.

Hope this works out fine. The only thing stopping htC now is the camera. Hope they team up with some other company for that as well...

n9 with dolby surround sound might be greater than htc with beats audio, but in the end, this marks an improvement for a rising company.. good luck htc! still, n900 rocks!

my biggest turn-of about htc devices is their horrible battery life rather that the low speaker volume or the subpar cameras,, so it is a good step forward -i guess- but they still have a lot of work ahead!

I have an SR60 and the sound is so good and the price is so affordable. It's audiophile quality cans for cheap and I like the retro look.

I also have the Monster Beats Turbine PRO (gold) and I bought it because of the lifetime unconditional warranty. They get to fix it even if I break it and the sound isn't bad. It's one of the best buds I've ever used.

Do something, HTC, cuz the lame speaker on the Sensation simply won't cut it - for music, speaker phone or anything else.
