The notch craze has got to stop. Also didn't LG scrap this idea?

My g5 was working perfectly fine (with it's terrible 3 hour ost battery life) until mid December then poof, lg screen, reboot, lg screen, reboot, lg screen, reboot... Tried the hard reset, pulling the battery, went online, no fix available... Goodbye lg, Hello Samsung S8 (Samsung for the first time since the Note 2, which still actually works).

Also just watched some youtube videos of the g6 bootlooping so...

Do a little research before you spout off little man.

            Stupid and idiot lg.

If there are no bezzels why i see them?
Its a 100% screen to phone ratio?
Ni its not then it have bezzels.
Anyway a notch is a sin.
Rather have no phone than a phone with Notch.

Anonymous, 08 Mar 2018Palm rejection is not a solution. That's useless. Bezels ar... morePalm rejection is the only solution. Been using it since 2014 (ipad mini)

Bezels do not protect phones, they crack all the time.
Phone cases do. I work on phone service, I see it all the time. The bezel cracks and then the crack extends all the way down to the screen. Bezels do not protect screen. They are just ugly as sin, sitting there, doing nothing.

Lovers of bezels should look deep inside themselves, they love something that is pure evil (it disallows function to people without giving anything back). Glad to know that there is a witch hunt against them from OEMs ... hopefully people will start being involved (in said hunt) too so that bezelled companies will not be able to sell almost anything. They propagate evil, and it should STOP.

Notches are functional. Bezels are useless. Literally just dead space to make you feel good about your phone. A drug for shallow people.

So happy that so many companies realized that function is more important than style...

The mobile industry has reached its own limits. There is not much room left for more innovation. The CPUs get minor upgrades (a few more benchmark points) every year, and the cameras take a bit more detailed photos, and phones have a bit more storage space or ram. That's all the real yearly improvement of phones. But it's the nature of capitalism, corporatocracy and corporate greed that OEMs still have to sell the new phones every year. But they barely can improve anything, no major breakthroughs anymore. So what will they do? They incorporate planned obsolescence to keep selling phones: the non-removable battery and the (AM)OLED screen with burn-ins and the more fragile glass body shorten the phone's lifespan hardware-wise, usability-wise. The new designs like notch, 18:9 screen, no bezels, curved edges, ... these affect / manipulate people's feelings, so they view older phones as obsolete, not trendy.

Akinaro, 07 Mar 2018Well its look like lots of people will stick to Sony and Sa... moreThe OEMs create and push these trends and shove down on people's throat. They use marketing and paid reviews to brainwash and manipulate people to accept and support the new crap trends. That's how they accepted with people the worst changes in the mobile industry: non-removable battery, glass unibody, no bezels, curved edges, 18:9 screen and notch. These were shoved down on people's throat and the abnormal became the norm. The OEMs manipulated people to change their minds so they view phones as jewelries and status symbols instead of useful, all in one, high tech tools. The phones are getting worse and worse and more expensive by every new release (and has the same camera sensor from the previous year and the CPU has only minor improvement), yet people still buy them. Why? Just because it's a status symbol, and they want to own the latest status symbol to show off to other people. People are hypocrites. They don't know what is the real purpose of a phone (they used to know it 10 years ago).

The copying (especially the phones and trend in 2017 and future) is more of an evidence for cartelling / conspiracy among manufacturers. Suddenly all manufacturers produce the exact same phone, follow the same trend, and it all happens at the same time. And there is no alternative.

Hayaan Mo Sila, 07 Mar 2018The problem with the V10's design is that it can't be made ... moreWho cares about water resistance? The vast majority of people never expose their phones to water. On the other hand, ALL batteries are going to need replacement, because they have short lifespan and deteriorate over time. So removable battery is the most important.

Unlike the notch, the secondary screen is useful. The OLED would be the worst choice for the secondary screen, because it would burn in.

G3 and G4 still has better design than all phones since 2016.

Yes, bezels protect the screen. The bezel-less phones are more fragile. The phones with curved edges are even more fragile.
A notch is totally useless. It's nothing more than marketing.
Unfortunately most people are sheeple, brainwashed by marketing.
The bezel-less, curved edges and corners, notch, non-removable battery are the quickly spreading cancer in the mobile industry. These are the worst ideas that should have never been created.

If everyone follows latest trend of bezeless design then I only say that do some research on screen protection, it's very usefull, instead of full screen design.

LG please don't go with notch... even it was introduced by you...
