Sony on why it dropped the headphone jack: the other kids were doing it

Coming back to this article in 2023, someone at Sony definitely realized that this was a HUGE mistake! Sony could have just continued by not putting the headphone jack for the 2020 Xperia 1 Mk2. But alas, they didn't. It really shows that not all new trendy ideas are better than the old-yet-effective ones.
And let's not forget one thing for those people here who always say that headphone jack and microSD card support are outdated and irrelevant: Cloud storage servers are still using magnetic tapes FFS! Do you still use VHS tapes to watch videos? No?

And its not about this 3.5mm jack, its about everything. They are holding back just so that their digital cameras, mp3 players, TVs, etc. can have smooth life, but they don't realise that each thing has its own market....
They must give their best in mobile market, irrespective of what it causes to other related products.

Do not know what is going on with Sony,they should fire the product manager..
no 3,5mm plug but they give in the box a dongle that costs 2x as much.

Such a unexpected excuse, my 9yr old brother can give a better explanation than that sony has lost its grounds no more turning back to this device.

the device shows no 3.5mm HJack so why bother giving MH750 hphones which have 3.5mm plug?

Actually I accept the seamless design for a reason remove the 3.5mm jack for Mirai designs, and also the wireless charging, just a request release a wireless power bank then it could be better to not use any adapter. So user can charging both the phone and wireless headphones while listening music, remember must adopt the Qnovo battery charging technology or the Mirai battery technology.

Well I guess I can scratch Sony off my list as a contender for next phone, after HTC failed me with their new AUXless phones. I guess OP5 or Sammy.
