Apple asked for it. Suing on technology patent is one thing, but suing others on design which is modified is unneccessary

These people need to get over the war of who did what, if they concentrate more on there developments then there courtroom dates, we would have more to choose from and even better things to choose from.
Amazing how blackberry stays away from the drama yet they the ones who are declining in the industry. When it comes down to it, all the phones are awesome, and every company steals an idea from each other, that's just the basics. Time to wage war in development and see who can out do each other in the best cellphone, wake up and consider the people who actually buy the stuff.

To me, it makes sense for HTC to sue Apple. Apple will naturally sue you if you wear a black t-shirts so why not HTC or Samsung sue Apple? now let's be frank, who started the patent war here? it's Apple. Apple deserves anything bad that happens to it because of its arrogance.

Fact of the matter is, they all borrow ideas from one another, they must get over it. If it wasn't for the good guys like Google who have free license on patents (and effectively spend billions of dollars to save the hides of the Android community and smartphone manufacturers).
And don't tell me that Apple has invented everything under the sun, they haven't. Many of there ideas have come from open source projects and other companies. If everybody was as stingy and self righteous as them nobody would actually have a complete smartphone.
So yes, I do think that it is fair that people borrow other people's ideas. It's partially how Apple and Microsoft got to where they are. Like I said, you can't, and probably wouldn't want, to copy something physically and software SHOULD NOT BE PATENTED.

Imagine if you we... moreThe problem is that most patents did not take years and billions of dollars to develop, and when you like Apple try to, have, patent on something as basic as a rectangular shape with rounded corners and a button under the screen these patents are only negative for everyone.
And when some companies even try to patent human genes that they have discovered then the whole patents-system becomes a problem because everyone then should have to pay that company just for being alive and using that gene...

Other rumours are going around in the media that the image supplied to the courts by Apple may have been misleading as the photos distorted the shape of the galaxy tab to make it appear the same size as an ipad.

The internals of a cell phone did. Apple is trying there best to not compensate those who spent the IRAD to get cell phones to where they are today. Just because apple is very good with UI, doesn't automatically entitle them to all prior innovation free of charge.
The reality here is every $ spent on patent litigation is a $ that's not spend improving mobile products. Patent litigation is hurting consumers all over the world. You want to see a copy, deserving litigation, goto electronics superstore in SE asia. The Motorola's, Sansumg's, Sony Ericson's, and Nokia's manage this assault upon there Brand without public litigation.

Good, Apple was nothing but an epic patent troll for the last 2 years. They deserve to get sued to the brink. They should instead focus on catching up to the likes of HTC and Samsung; all their current offerings and generations behind in hardware.
