hmmm, i did some research and it appears that fusion garage have definately created something unique. Apple and Android will have something to compete with other than themselves. This is a very interesting operating system, no clue if it will hit canada but it will be interesting. No offence to other operating systems, but some have claimed to be unique and what not but besides android I havenn't seen much uniqueness until now:) Hope this OS finds success:)

disappointed about the specs with the huge price tag... my phone has the exact same specs with and i bought it at that price more than a yr ago.. i dont think an OS is worth that much.. wait till the boys at XDA ports this to android devices..

hmm... would apple sue for looking like a Ipad... would be funny.

but back to the device... it look good but, a company that small.. can they pull it off to have such a device on the market and still stand? i mean how many do they need to sell to hit even?

Oh man I love these things. Engadget had a full review about both of these yesterday. The OS is based on Android kernals so it'll run android OS apps, but interface is so so different, I love it. The tablet (Grid 10) and phone (Grid 4) work seamlessly together syncing up with one, it's really an impressive OS. Granted it'll get a lot of hate form the iOS people and other Android users, but I really think these guys have something pretty unique here. I hope it catches on because their OS at least, is the best looking one out there.

Pretty nice actually. I can imagine this being in a Terminator or James Bond movie.

Who cares if it looks like another phone. They all starting to look alike anyway. rectangle, thin, big screen. Getting sick of people saying shit like that.

The 4" is pretty standard, a 2009-2010 flagship, 2011 sidekick, except for the UI, which is lovely!
the same thing about the 10", it's like any other tegra-powered honeycomb tablet...

NIce, but the specs are low and thats a downturn. Watchout for apple lawsuits.

I struggle to find the differentiating factor of these products.

                                  Screen? nah.

                                  Camera? nah.

Processor? I would have been impressed if this were 2009.

Maybe the OS and the new UI... Hmm, I think any other manufacturers could have achieved new user experience by simply using a UI skin for Android. Then why a new, customized Android OS?

My impression is that after squandering away all the money that investors pumped into the company with nothing to show, Fusion Garage decided to ride on the Android bandwagon. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, except for the fact that now they are no different from a gazillion Android phone/tablet manufacturers from China. Thus to make investors happy, they came up with the lame story about the Grid OS being a customized Android.

Even if this is indeed a custom Android OS, it is in my opinion a very dumb idea. You get all the upgrade issues when new versions of Android are released. Remember the Sony Ericssion's Xperia range when Froyo was released in 2010? and SE was merely building new UI skins for Android... A customized Android? hmmm.... a disaster in the making
