Lot of their features are now getting adopted by Google for its pure android. This is also part of R&D.

it is well none, since years, that Apple makes at least $200 net profit for each iPhone they sell. Samsung and the others, seeing that not everybody wants an iPhone, are just artificially selling their stuff at approximately the same price. And these companies will keep increasing the price as long as people are willing to pay!

An Isuzu "Tuned by Lotus" is a far cry from an actual Lotus automobile's handling.
Similarly, earphones "tuned by AKG" likely are a far cry from actual AKG developed for retail earphones.
