It is NOT a 720p screen, compare the icon at the notification bar, and remember WVGA has 480 pixels, 720p should be 50% more, the difference should be very obvious.

Forget Samsung, Motorola is now the favored son of Google. Best software support will obviously be with Motorola, and their hardware will be more tightly integrated too.

its not that big, just see the comparison with other moto phone in the picture, 4'5inch size minus the capacitive button, the next android generation with ICS will come without hardware button, so the screen got bigger but the phone size still the same.
i have the money to buy SGS II but i choose to wait ICS phone bigger screen but without hardware button, SGS II will have a problem to keep up with the next gen smartphone resolution soon.

I've owned the Dell Streak 5 before, now that is a big phone. I think 4.5" is still very pocketable.

4.5" is probably the max for pocketability tho. The 5" Dell Streak was just way too huge for a phone.

The planets have to align in this way for me to buy this:

          -what carrier?
          -bootloader unlocked?
          -will have 720p screen?

Otherwise, it's Samsung Galaxy S II for me. At least that handest is easy to root and load a custom ROM.

          I've seen MotoBlur, it sucks.

I can see certain pixelation in the notification bar and various other place of the UI--it's almost certainly not 720p.
