Carl Pei deletes "learn to love the notch" tweet after outcry from fans

29 March 2018
That didn't go over well. To be fair, it's easy to find someone on Twitter to complain about something, but it must have been more than a few someones.

wasn't there a poll about the notch a couple weeks ago and like 80+% of people hated it?

Voxter, 29 Mar 2018This is what happens when you try use share components and ... moreTrue, sales will tell just like how the falling sales of Moto, htc and Sony have been amplified by the removal of the 3.5mm jack.
Those who buy flagships can afford iPhones but buy different because we want different. If these companies want an iPhone copy at the price of an iPhone then guess who wins.
Just hope Samsung remains the same.

Notch is life, Notch is Love....

nvm, i still hate that notch. we really need CTRL+Z .

This is what happens when you try use share components and design with Oppo to maximize the profit and then try to impose them to your customers even if they don't like it and you properly ask them in a survey. In Apple style the say: "Learn to love the notch" or "Don't hold it that way" or "This is a feature not a bug"... But in Android world that doesn't work.

As usual, the sells will be the louder answer, if they are low, they'll change the design asap for the 6T if they don't go directly to OP 7 to forget the OP 6 as soon as possible. But who knows what desing trend will win, in few months we will see. Brands like Huawei, at least, have models of both design with and without notch, so they'll can better compare their sales between the Mate line and the new P20 or others. If they maintain the actual Mate design in their next Mate or similar and classic it'll be a clear sign that the classic bezzeles phones sell well or better. Time to time.

I don't see the problem with the notch as long as the screen wraps around the front and has no huge side or bottom bezels.

One plus is just an Oppo with a high-end SoC,
and Oppo is just a lame iPhone-copycat.

                  That's all.

And as I said before, it's no coincidence that the all these names sound the same: Oneplus (a lot of people just write OP) -> Oppo -> Apple

Gone are the days when Oneplus tried to be innovative and unique. Today it's just boring and generic - and this is in spite of the fact that its price gets higher and higher for each model!

Ah, the undying anyone-who-dislikes-new-advancements-despite-having-legit-concerns-is-a-minority snarky statements from people who just swallow up everything new.

Remember during the height of cloud computing how USB drive fans were insulted for holding on an OLD tech?

Well, companies are now imposing their rules like deleting something they do not like from your cloud storage. Or in other names, someone else's computer.

Enjoy the future. Just don't cry if the sword swings back in your way.
