Ng, 03 Apr 2018Never use any cleanup apps, even samsung built in by clean ... moreThat's too simplistic. Some apps work better if you rebuild the cache. Some people don't know how to clean their phones using a file manager or disable unwanted apps. Some can't detect apps with telemetry and ads - I can, and I know how to block it. Some people complain their phones lag, while my S5 is almost as good as new. Generally I'd agree, but most people don't tinker with their phones as much as we nerds do. My S5 has more free RAM on boot now than when it was new. ;-) All I'm saying is that people who aren't techies have a few good options that will take care of things for them.

AnonD-714946, 03 Apr 2018This is why i moved to Sony....!Sony update their phones for a maximum of 3 years just like Samsung. No manufacturer updates its phones for more than 3 years other than Apple.

This is very bad practice on behalf of Samsung. You buy premium device and pay big $$$ for it and then you get support for just two years? Can't believe they are getting away with it so quietly.

Anonymous, 03 Apr 2018Hey Guys, what cleaning/maintenance apps do u recommend ? ... moreI usually don't recommend any cleaners as they are mostly snake oil and adware .
What I do recommend is to install a file manager and get rid of the filed you no longer need. Also uninstall / disable unused apps.
Never ever wipe any cache, unless you want to solve a problem. Your phones managed the cache well by itself.

If you really need an app to tell you how to do this, try Files Go by Google, but be careful what you delete/move.

                              What happened to Oreo update?

People need to remember. Manufacturers make money by selling new phones, not updating old ones. And it’s not like people care. People keep buying Samsung anyway. If you don’t like it, then don’t buy Samsung.
