nokia has failed again in pricing deptt. Why should I buy Nokia 6 at 17k when I can get Redmi note 5 pro at 14k ???? Sirrocco at 50 k !!!! Are u mad?? I can buy samsung S9 adding few bucks. Total failure this launches , all because of useless pricing.

Display is by sharp because they were the one who designed it that way. Ceramic is costlier than steel to process. Nokia used Toshiba sensor in 808, did that make it bad? Samsung has 95 percentage share in OLED with 2 percentage being LG. Don't know where you got tianma or boe ( Huawei uses it I know) but rest are same off shelf components. I need you to find what Nokia uses other than Zeiss Branding that isn't off shelf.

        There must be reasons like Nokia 8 must be selling very low now, and Nokia 7+ is currently all hyped about, thus people are gonna choose the 7+ (esp for that sexy design) whereas the Nokia 8 is kinda plain/simple/sober in terms of design.
        In terms of processor SD660 is a very powerful chip set based on kryo cores, which don't make a big difference in terms of processing power(but 835 is definitely better esp with it's GPU)

          Samsung has been using the same SIII design language for all (and by all, I mean literally ALL) their mid-rangers, and since the S6, all their flagships have the same design language. Even today you cannot differentiate between their 2015 budget mid ranger with a 2018 one. Heck, you can't even differentiate between an A8+ and an S9 by looking at the back.
          For Apple, the less I say the better as they have been using the same design for 4 years now.
          And even Huawei, if you try to see with open eyes you'll see each of their mid-rangers is the same metal unibody (7X, 9i/Mate10Lite, View 10, Honor 8 Pro).
          See I agree Xiaomi has been blandly copying others a few times, their iPhone X style camera in 5 Pro is the one thing I hated the most, even in the Mix 2s, but if you blindly say that "Xiaomi doesn't do R&D, and other brands do", you are either the fanboy, or plain ignorant.

            For all the people shouting at top of their lungs that chinese copy and all things. Let me tell you that look at their higher end devices like mix mi honor mate series. Even apple was copying there own design for 6 7 years by just changing their camera positions vertical and horizontally. And finally they copied Essential with notch. So now still you think other companies are copycat. Then either you you are dumb af or blind af. Also if you copy camera design then you dont become crappy copy shit. Its everyones personal choice to what to keep and what not. So tell me what the f** this multi-billion dollar companies bringing with this r&d shit. Same old design with different camera placements. Instead they should invest those money to understand what user actually needs. High grade specs at sky high values dont make sense. Brands like xiaomi oneplua huwei are leaving them in dust with their sales. So no surprise there. You people will keep saying this are copycats but they are making billions. But your favorite brands are having hard time selling 1/4th of those Chinese giants. Gone are the days when Chinese brands were cheap in quality. Now they are setting benchmarks with their each amd every device. Look at mi mix, mate rs and one plus 5t. They can only sit besides like of s9 v30 pixels. Not even htc or sony devices can stand them nowadays. Even their midrangers like note 5 pro, honor 9 lite are so solid that they can easily beat this 25k 30k so called high brand phones. If you still keep calling them ripoff. Then guys i get your frustration as your favorite brand is constantly failing you with its pricing and you dont have anyother choice but call them ripoff out of pure angst and jealousy. Also if you say people who dont afford high brand phones will buy these Chinese brand then for your information mate rs is double the price of iphone. So they can have contender in every budget.

( I own a oneplus 3 and it was one of the 1st phones in the market (after nexu and pixel that received oreo)

                The sheer amount of comments these stories about Nokia phones gather is a testament to the power of the brand even after so many years when the brand had disappeared to obscurity.

                Nothing happens overnight, I’m sure HMD will continue to gradually increase its global market share over the next few years. Of course Nokia phones won’t return to past glory, but they will most certainly capture a significant part of the market.

                      Samsung, Nokia, Huawei, Ericsson, ZTE are all working on 5g so the Best tender according to the government and local authorities and the local telecom win the contracts.

                      It has nothing to do with innovation.

                      The cheapest and the most efficient tender will actually win the contract.

                      Etisalat is with Nokia , So it will have to be Vodafone , Alcatel , virgin etc etc that choose the vendors.

                        They are basically a networking company, with a strong hold on IOT, AR etc, btw mist be knowing that Main Nokia is currently doing R&D on bring 5G to Consumer Market.

                        Coming to Nokia Mobiles, well they have to buy products from somewhere, since they don't manufacture them, even apple doesn't manufacture everything apart from their processors.

                        R&D is involved in how to integrate all this stuff in a unique design which remain sturdy, feels solid, give the Nokia feel in hand etc.

                        Just hold a Nokia 6/8 for once you will come to know what i mean.
                        They have their own unique taste which isn't copied from anyone.

                        The designers at HMD global invested time and money to develop this.

                        Yes regarding camera and imaging department they haven't done much R&D yet, thus they are not marketing their camera's like OLD Nokia did.

                        It's only the 1st year for HMD, and i believe they will do their innovation in other departments with the amount of profits they made in first year.

                        This year i see their portfolio growing more, thus i expect in 2 years Nokia will regain it's camera Prowess it was earlier known for.

                              Even when they use Sony it's probably an old sensor.

                              They use displays from Tianma Auo or Boe.

                              You know just 1 manufacturer for each component and you are stressing on that it makes no sense.

                              Your knowledge of R&D is limited I don't think you have heard about 5G , Nokia Drone Networks ,Nokia networks LTE R&D ,Nokia securities R&D ,Nokia Connected places AI R&D etc etc

                                    Reading comments here for comparing one brand to the other on the basis of price is clear indication of what consumers need. RIP good value devices because price is the main factor.

                                    Xiaomi makes great devices but how to buy these? Wait for your lucky day for a crack at flash sale. Yes they are rated No.1 but on what basis? Does anyone bother, no! But if they were trolled, people question, wow. MIUI and it's ecosystem is different but people say it's feature rich. Like seriously? There was a recent poll on MIUI & Stock Android.

                                    One Plus One, wow. Another company fast fading from flagship killer to flagship only with price increase and short 6 month cycle to make people anxious about support. Oxygen OS is nice and feature loaded, fair point. One Plus 3 and 3T are comparable to a newly launched Nokia 7 plus? Nokia 8 was at this price when launched? One Plus 5 and 5T, when were they launched? What is the promise they won't back off like they did?

                                    Nokia owned by HMD with current line up has 8.1 Android Oreo and looks promising. But will they live upto it? Who knows?

                                    26k is overpriced? When did companies become saints? Every OEM or phone maker has sights on one thing-profit. Those who don't, rarely exist.
