Touchless gestures: Already done on Galaxy S4 in 2013.
Inward curved screen: Already done on Galaxy Round (2013) and LG G Flex (2013).

because Apple knows that it cant sustain this business model, a 449$ iphone will eventually exist that has mid to high end specs. It's the 6.1" everyone is talking about

Smartphone makers just look for 'innovations' and changes in design simply for the sake of change. They make phones uglier and uglier imo. My current phone iPhone 8 has a classic design which looks better than iPhone X. Same goes for Galaxy S4 looks better than S8, Xperia Z3 better looking than XZ2, LG G2 better design than LG G6 etc. etc. I hate these 18:9 too tall for comfortable one-handed usage, horrible and ugly notch or Samsung's edge displays. Sometimes more compact, classic and 'old fashioned' design simply looks better than the newer models from 2017/18.

So they are 8 years behind in curved screens (2013: LG G Flex & Galaxy Round) and many other years behind in these kind of not-that-popular gestures (Sony, Samsung and Nokia, with their McLaren proto). Nice..

Sony Xperia Sola had "floating touch" back in 2012, which is unlike the Samsung Galaxy S4's front camera based gestures.

They announce "touchless gestures" as something innovative? We already had Air View in Galaxy s3/s4, unfortunately Samsung removed that. It was a really cool feature, of course Apple will just implement features phone already had and announce them as new

According to "people with knowledge with Apple" inorder to perform these touchless gestures you have to wear iGroves wich will be sold by Apple.

If to identify whole finger as hand holding phone instead of just touch, it may have meaning with bezelless devices, more with tablets though and not in 3 years but now. Android devices use that functions long ago(some not anymore), so its nothing awesome, maybe they got better idea. But in 3years there may be not phones anymore, so its maybe for folding tablet-phone.

Under screen scanning is still failure, what about waving above screen, than touching, and inward sloping is fantasy on air!
