I jumped of the Nokia ship as soon as the 5800 was launched (and was saved by Android and RIM) but this looks nice.

For Nokia need to produce just even one updated completely new Nokia N8 phone with Symbian Belle and add Dual-core 1.2-1.5 GHz procesor or even single 1.7 MGz procesor with 4 to 4.5 inches display and you guy's will see how will be popular this phone even between iPhone fans and all Android fans back to buy Nokia again.

Nokia please do it soon as possible for your bright future!

AnonD-12453, 24 Aug 2011wow, do you even know what an open source mean? the only re... moreI think once iOS5 comes out with the slavishly copied notification bar and amount some revenue, that's when Google will sue Apple. So no lawsuit yet. This also depends whether or not Google holds the patent for the notification bar, and the willingness to sue.

What I noticed but haven't seen it being discussed often is the fact that the wifi, bluetooth, gps etc buttons at the top of the notification interface are part of Samsung TouchWiz (look at feel are completely different from Maemo's notification system), not Android's (correct me if I'm wrong). In that case, it will give power to Samsung to sue rather than Google, which will make the lawsuit wars more interesting.

nokia is still trying to be market but they should come with some new os like apple and android did.symbian belle is just an improvement update of symbian but.todays generation needs some thing new that challanges world in our hand .. for ex if we purchase s2 between 6 months samsung new in market at that time we disappoint with our s2 and want to purchase something new and that kills our dream ..but apple launches only one handset per year so we are satisified last year they launch apple 4 ae nd this year iphone 5 thir is some time we can play with our hand set but samsung and nokia release 2 new handsets every month thats why electronics goods are DREAM KILLER

AnonD-1312, 24 Aug 2011If Belle copied Android pull down bar, for all you Android ... morewow, do you even know what an open source mean? the only reason why google never sue apple for their notification bar is because it can't, open source is (put it simply) free for all to use.. if google can sue anyone, believe me, nokia is not their main concern, probably never even think about, apple is the big guy to beat, not nokia.. lol..

Regarding the "Android-ish" look. I could care less how it looks or how closely it looks to Android (which I currently use). If Nokia makes a better product for their customers or potential customers, good for them. If this makes other manufacturers and companies improve their phones and OS's in response, that's good for everyone. Bring it on. I look forward to seeing how things advance in 18 months which is probably when I will be getting a new phone.

Even wth all this improvement Symbian still retains its super battery efficiency operating as low as 2mA.

                                  MY ADVICE TO NOKIA
1/ keep working on symbian platform use it for your low end and mid range mobiles
2/improve processors for your midrange phones with minimum 600mhz
This will be cost effective to both manufacturer and the customer as the prices of the devices will be low and will be affirdable to the customer
We can just see how bad mid range android devices are, costly but, poor hardware and batteries and slow because of the small processors they have
3/keep working on windows or meago for your high end devices go with a platform that has premium quality
Iam just suggesting this just as a user, hope some one from nokia reads my post
