The software is made in their Chicago headquartes in the US, they also test the new phones with special equipment there. They have the most experience with Android than all manufacturers because they once belonged to Google. Go take a tour!
For all of you waiting for software updates, they will come and they will be rock solid unlike buggy firmware from others. That's why they are taking their time with Oreo. The soak tests are going well.
Other big manufacturers don't even think of updating their budget devices (I'm looking at you Shamesung).
Xiaomi updated their 4 year old phones to MIUI 9 but how good is the experience on the oldest ones now? Probably laggy as hell. Also they were late, they didn't update when people were actually using the devices. Everyone switches phones after 2 - 3 years anyway so people probably sold their old Xiaomis, especially the budget ones. What was the point of doing that?
I'm still waiting for the official Nougat OTA update on my Xiaomi MiBox, it launched in 2016 with Marshmallow, it's been stuck there ever since. And it's pure Android too, no customizations to it.

By then all Motorola phones would be on Oreo.
Also I couldn't see any of the other plethora of budget devices that were launched by Samsung in the update schedule.
Never mind Samsung might not have the time for them.

Xiaomi dosent even have Oreo for Redmi 5 and 5 plus which were launched in 2018.
On the contrary motorolas 2018 lineup will all come out with Oreo.

Besides Moto is launching with Android o when p is around the corner. If that's con for Redmi, why not for Moto? Besides where's nougat for my Moto E3 power? Where's Oreo for g4? Is it available to users? Like really? I don't expect them to give Oreo till October or November after p has launched

Don't know why you are not getting the update
It's only that the G series has to still get it.
Also Moto is even giving Oreo to G4 plus.
Oreo for j3 prime is not even confirmed by Samsung officially someone on XDA leaked it and it will take another 6 months for the rollout.

updating unmodified pure android is the easiest job in the world. thats why my moto g 1st gen is running on android oreo 8.1 (custom ROM pure AOSP Stock ROM)
atleast understand diff between stock and Heavily modifeid ROM

It's funny you are saying Redmi note 5 Pro launched with Nougat at the time P was out and Saying that it got updated only in china still no official OTA in other countries.
When it should have launched with Oreo in the first place.
All Nokia phones launched in 2018 came out with Oreo , All Motorola phones launching in 2018 will come out with Oreo.
Oreo is a year old and still they are launching with Nougat it's a shame on this clone company.
Btw most of Nokia phones have already got them.
I don't want to get my 1 OS update to Oreo when Android Q is out.
Nokia updated it's Nokia 3 to Oreo which is under 10k.

They couldn't even Roll out a stable build of Oreo for Mi A1 till now.
I know you are a Xiaomi fan but don't be blind that you can't even distinguish it's faults like Cheap quality and Poor software support , Hardware Failure etc etc.
