Looks like Xiaomi is going the OPPO F7/VIVO V9 route. Good camera with subpar specs.

Disappointed and disenchanted with the SoC and the battery. A phone with Android One should be completely open to the community of developers and we know well that Mediatek will not deliver the source code ever. Not to mention that their GPUs are not up to Qualcomm's Adreno in graphics quality and below in performance too.
If this is true, I am clear that I will not buy it. I will wait and look for another model with Android One that comes with better battery and actual Qualcomm SoC without having to spend what it cost a Pixel 2 XL or 3-XL will cost.

Ultra weak GPU. Seriously a MP3? At least eight cores please...

i dont belive Google will agree make a phone with a SoC wich dont will have any kind of support by Mediacrappp...so, Mi A2 doesnt go ahead with that, hope to see a SD630/636/653 in this phone...people are gettin' mad because is not worth the update if they came with SD626 as leaks claim.
Battery is not much a downgrade because is only 90mAh, nothing special, you dont see any difference between 3000 and 2910.
This will be my next phone for sure if they came with the right SoC, the updated DAC and better camera and keep the IR Blaster, for sure will be my first choise.

Since Xiaomi is barred by High court of Delhi to release any smartphone with processors other than Snapdragon in India, Mi A2 global version is very likely to be powered by SD630/636

Don't get me wrong, MediaTek Helio P and X chipsets aren't bad by any means, but when it comes to overall performance, there's no beating of the SnapDragon, especially with the GPU.
Good that it's close to SD835 in CPU but I don't need it if graphics is not really enough.
They should rather wait for SD670 as that will match the SD835 in CPU too, but with much closer graphics performance to it than the Helio P60.
And most app and game developers always prioritize SnapDragon SoCs for optimization as they are the most widely used chipsets for mobile all around the world, so games will run much better on SnapDragon phones than anything else.

This variant won't come to India for sure, it will be rebranded as Mi A2 with Snapdragon 636 or maybe be 630 cz Xiaomi with Mediatek not allowed in India!

It's highly unlikely that any MTK SoC culd be used for the 6X as it's also the base for A2. Troughs MTK did announce the Treble compatibility & it starts with P60 but compatibility & available sources are two different things so Google wouldn't commit to developing for something that it won't get kernel source updates on. Secondly it's more than highly unlikely Xiaomi is developing two different versions of 6X as all do P60 variant would be fine for Chinese market that same market is seeing a big decline & I think even for India it's a no go.
