I went to UBREAKIFIX, techs check the problem/issue with sound, calls etc. they said they will "replace all components" whatever that means... but they said they will charge me $350. plus tax !!! I dont think so. I paid $800. in Nov 2016 and so you can see Im just 4 months over the warranty. This is awful .. you expect a phone this price to last at least 3-4 years !! Come on Google be reasonable.

Wait until you need to replace the screen of your iphone with the new iOS update.
        😂

Always the same bs from these so called "customers" arguing about support longevity.

Half of yall can't even aford the damn thing!

Those who bought the first gen Pixel phones just recently will be good for a good year, if not more, with all the features the latest Android version will provide +security updates.

After another 18 months the phone will be ancient in smartphone years anyway and you are def going to look at the newest models because of all the new features that's going to come in next year. No software update is going to give you new camera, better graphics or perfomance. Not to mention all the rest.

If 'I can't aford buying a new phone every year' is your only excuse then you seriously need to reconsider your current job, salary or man up and ask that pay raise already lol

All I'm saying is that the era of owning a phone for 2+ years is over. Everything in mobile tech is evolving in months and no software update is going to help keep up with that in your 2014 phone...

            ...unless it's iphone wuahahaha..

            ..not.

If apple can provide updates upto 4 years for their devices , why can't google do the same?

Google has supported and updated earlier phones like nexus 6 and 6p so they may continue support for another year or so. I currently have the moto g4(was disappointed btw) and have only received 1 update in 2 years (7.0) so at least the pixel was supported well for 2 years. Now the Pixel is a really good deal for a near lag free phone (£250 for an xl) so it is still a good option for us peasants ; )

This is to make way for the budget Pixel 3 this Fall 2018 alongside the normal Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

Google -- success with the software and failure with the hardware. Also, distribution, pricing, support for the hardware also a far cry from idyllic.

This is the down side of google phones while the 4 years old iphone 6 will still receive ios 11 update. Customer will feel upset and they will likely not to choose pixel phones.

So those who have just purchased will get support for only 6mnths.... only ppl who got it at launch will get 2yrs support .... not good. Flagships should be supported for upto 2yrs after their last day of sale

Google must have sold 1 million of these devices.
                                :p

The original Google Pixel had a good run. So sad to see it end (As in physically sold by Google). :(
