Too bad that Wraith Prism Cooler is RGB garbage. My 2700x goes to 74º degrees on full load. Rather have something functional rather than something pretty.

      Atoms, Snapdragon who is bigger?
U know why Intel leave smartphone market?
Because they have fail to make processor smaller like atoms processor.
Not energy efficiency, very bad speed, bad gaming, and basically bad in everything.
So again back to desktop processor, u said Intel 14nm is smaller than other companies 12nm??? Maybe compare to AMD yes Intel processor is smaller, but don't get me wrong they are still no match to Samsung nanotechnology :)

ClockSoicy084, 14 Apr 2018But you can't delid AMD? You can and that's why the new 2nd gen Ryzen is kinda a bad value.

Yes, it's the last Ryzen launch on the AM4 platform which is one of the best things about going AMD; you get to use your AM4 motherboard from Ryzen 1 to Ryzen 3 (Cheap single part upgrade).

Ryzen 3 will be using a completely different architecture than 1 & 2 which is why we only saw a ~10% perf. increase from Zen 1 to 2, the difference in performance between Zen 2 and 3 will be much greater. The only major reason that Ryzen 3 may not be as "future-proofed" as Ryzen 1 will be the launch of DDR5 Ram ~2020, since the AM4 platform is still using DDR4 up to 3533MHz.

Considering this gen is just revision 2700X for $330 is super competitive and really impressive. Price is the same as 1700 and clock even higher than the top end last gen 1800X that cost $500. Come with good stock cooler, all unlocked and can overclock on cheap B series motherboard. With current line up Intel have right now there's no way they can match price/performance ratio that AMD have right now.

I'm looking forword for Ryzen 3000 series where the real improvement come. Maybe we might get to see 8 cores got replace with new 12 cores on a normal desktop market.

Still going to continue using my overclocked 6700k, but when it's time to upgrade and get more cores - AMD actually is worth considering again, which is something that hasn't been a thing since forever (still regretting the purchase of my 1055T, should've gone with 2600k immediately...) and until they released the first Ryzens. Competition is always welcome!

This is just yet another heavy blow to Intel. AMD is on the roll, and we all better be happy that we have competition back in the CPU space and its Intel doing the chasing all over again, as its been a few years since we were last in that situation and those were the years when Intel didnt do a thing to offer the customers a better product, over a 5% performance increase just to sell a new CPU generation.

They also need competitive and efficient mobile processors/APUs, as the market isn't only workstations and gaming rigs, premium 2-in-1s and low-end laptops are quite important.
