Nothing to by from Android manufacturers, no one is offering high end tablet faster than any flagship phone, which defeats tablet purpose. It is suppose to be more powerful computer than smartphone, but no one cares to produce powerful tablets, you only get ones with rubbish chipsets, no wonder no one buys it. Only Apple left who produces huge end powerful multimedia tablets. So that's why people don't have choice and buys only iPads which makes sense, waiting for new 2018 iPad pro to replace my iPad air 2

FromChinaWithLove, 02 May 2018Ever since Google give up on improving the Nexus tablet or ... moreAndroid tablets get os updates... well They don`t
IPads gets them all the time... I would take iPad over Android tablet at any day because of that. One thing is the hardware. Apple puts better hardware to iPads than They do to the phones. Android manufactures put old and slow hardware to tablets...
Hmm is there something wrong in here? I really hope that the new 2in1 type chromebooks with Android support will Remedy this. Chromebooks get constant upgrades, some of them have really good hardware. I am really hoping to see good competition From that Front!

Anonymous, 03 May 2018Tab S4 appeared in china import listing. It will come this ... moreTab S4 will have old SoC and 16:10 screen, likely to be more expensive than iPad Pro again.

Android tablets are dead. All because of lack of hardware. None of Android manufacturers wants to compete with Apple. There is no a single usable low and mid budget device. They keep doing crappy, dated, laggy, fat devices 10'' 16:10 with giant bezels and very poor hardware. Noone wants that ancient stuff, when there is midbuget iPad for $300.

In top so far only Tab S3 was capable. It was 4:3. But poorer SoC and larger price made it pointless.

use the better device in different situations. for indoor use, such as home or office, it is best to use a larger screen sub 400g tablet. larger screen to display those Android App. clear and efficient. phablet cannot compare with tablet in such situation.

600g plus IPAD, it's good for notes taking with its pencil. larger area to write, show more. honestly I don't use this PAD to check and read content. it's too bulky to use, too heavy to hold. I would welcome if there are larger than 12.9" size be released in future. get it for note taking purpose.

for outdoor use, a device be put in pocket, quick photo shooting, texting, content checking, a phone in size under 15cm is good. larger device would slow the process on taking photos, and any other operation on the phones

How is the iPad 2018 expensive? It's got great features, great performance, and it matches all expectations of a tablet.
Android tablets are a flop, as the OS and hardware cannot run smoothly.

I even sold my laptop and all I'm using now is an iPad Pro 12.9". Don't even feel the need for a laptop or desktop computer anymore.

Tablets should run Chrome OS. Desktop UI / with google play store.

And add feature to run apps in windows, or fullscreen mode.

Maybe phones with 6" screens killing tablets sales?

now what ? are they gonna blaming apple on this case too ?

Its not about size only but the performance of tablet it self isee only apple are still maintaining perfomance of tablet still fast but in others competitors can not maintain for precisely android can not support it thats why 7 and 8 inch fall a and user not to demanding even the tablet already slowing the tablet it self deference with phone user still want but if it slowing. If tablet can supports more than businesses laptop with cheaper price and same compatibllelity maybe that will puss laptop in cheaper like situations first tablet fever

Also no one in their right mind would upgrade tablets like phones. And it's harder to give teens and such a reason for tablets, while 2-in-1 PCs do more.

Android manufacturers started making bigger phones and then wonder why tablet sales are going down. Steve jobs knew this thats why he wanted to keep iphones smaller to distiguish them from tablets. Also companies started making tablets like laptops with including keyboard and laptops like tablets by introducing touch screen. This is why tablets are dead.

Ever since Google give up on improving the Nexus tablet or making any new one to the end that they just completely gave it up. That's shows you how much Android tablets are worth!
And then there's big size phones too.

TBH, if only Google could have stay with the affordable Nexus tablet and improve it to a point where it can be a head to head competitor to the iPad, that they most likely could but they just wouldn't! Such a shame.

There's no future for the Android tablet as long as OEM still putting too much in-house crap into their tablets! Samsung may think they done a great job with their tablet, but we can all see that Android tablet is going nowhere.

If, if they want people to go back to Android tablet, there's probably one way( or the only way). Android one ( just pure stock Android OS) on a tablet with good to great specs. That probably would have save the future of Android tablet.

There's a version why iPad is better than Android in tablet territory and that's coming from a guy who doesn't use Apple products or like Apple.

Anonymous, 02 May 2018To samsung/huawei and all android maker Give us a tablet... moreAre you for real? Do you really care about antutu scores? I pity you

Tablets seemed to have so much promise back on April 3, 2010 when the first iPad shipped. They turned out to be a solution looking for a problem. While they make sense for a limited number of applications and industries, for the general consumer, their large screen smart phone meets most of their needs for a mobile window into the internet and the world of apps. On the Android side, tablets were further doomed by Google not insisting that app developers deliver separate tablet optimized apps - similar to what Apple did. As a result, most Android tablet apps don't scale well to the larger screen sizes that tablets offer. I believe its not too late to create more tablet optimized apps but I don't have much hope of Google wanting to do that.

                                      have 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB RAM

Tablets used to be hot when iPads were hot.

No one wants a MediaTek tablet for $100 that freezes as soon as it Powers ON.
Neither do people want "Slate" tablets with TV screen sizes and iPhone X prices.
