Anonymous, 17 Apr 2018The article is exclusive to US.The ban affects ZTE wordwide, as the ban is for the exports in software and hardware. It doesn't matter where the hardware is manufactured, if it's owned buy US company, counts as US export equally when you sell it for a foreign business.
About the software, that could means that, for example, Google apps that are propietary and not open source will not available in ZTE products too. Hopefully that will not affect Nubia or subsidiaries for now, but who knows if they want extend it in the future even revoking already signed contracts if they reoffend and continue doing business with sanctioned countries. Of course, ZTE will do what they consider more profitable for them, even could try another agreement to settle all, but it's not likely to accomplish it, who knows.

Anonymous, 17 Apr 2018so, on one article, it reads "ZTE banned from buying qualco... moreIt most likely only applies to future phones, not those which ZTE already payed money to Qualcomm and already being manufactured.

Anonymous, 17 Apr 2018so, on one article, it reads "ZTE banned from buying qualco... moreIf this ban only affects ZTE and not its subsidiaries there shouldn't be any issues with phones launching with Snapdragon CPUs.

Are these even available in the UK? Looks like a stellar device, bit of a fail if it's not.

Will the US ban affect Nubia too? That could crush the Z18, Z18 mini and Red Magic too if their suppliers are the same because they'll only able to manufacture with the stock components before being forced to change the design asap. Or could Nubia buy components despite of being a sub-brand of ZTE? It could be the key to save ZTE and the way to obtain profits.
