Moto (Lenovo) has left the door wide open in the US. There are no good mid range options in the US currently with a screen larger than 5.5". None, zero. Nokia is bringing Nokia 6 to the US--which is at least as good as anything Moto has--and if Nokia brings their best phone, the 7 Plus unlocked for all carriers they will blow Moto right out of the water.

Moto G6 handsets will get one major OS update, the Android P.
No Android update guaranteed for Moto E5 lineup.
Motorola will release security updates every 60-90 days.

krishjay, 20 Apr 2018Nothing in front of Redmi note 5 pro... and price will be 3... moreWell indian proce would be close to 15k. You are right though. This one is for the markets like US and UK and others where xiaomi does not have any presence yet and people prefer stock android or something closer to that

Something else for those "nokia is better"-guys:
Nokia 6 2018 costs here in europe 265€ right now - for the 3/32 version! Plus the camera is just garbage compared to others in that pricerange.

Don't forget there is a 19% taxation in Europe.
i.e. the nubia 17 mini 6/64 costs ~200€ plus the 19% in Europe - but that's an offer just right now.
the xiaomi mi a1 4/64 costs around 225€ right now (no taxation, official vendor) - and the last price for the g5s plus 4/64 was around 240€.
So the difference is not that big.

Nothing interesting, low tier SoC for the price, small batteries for the display size, no notification led, the same ugly hump-face at the back, too big without optimize the bezels, lack of updates ... Keep them in China with their Lenovo's brothers. Bye mediocre Moto, no buy the crippled collection.

Motorola is the king of budget devices. Crappy Chinese companies like Xiaomi & Oppo are no match for the oldest cellphone company. Keep it up, Moto!

Imho they're making this way too easy for say Xiaomi in terms of bang for buck value. Want AOSP-like ROMs? The Redmi line so far (fortunately) does have a pretty solid xda devs' support save for ones running on Mediatek SoCs of course.
I don't know what is up over there at LeMoto's HQ but whatever the hell they're smoking they should quit it.

Anonymous, 19 Apr 2018Don't want that scared face-like circular camera. Being ori... more1. Is it something that you're going to notice at all times when using the phone?
I saw the notch yesterday and it also looks very scary, but it ain't enough reason for me to not use the phone at all.
It's basically at the back. It can be ignored easily. Heck, I even forgot that the iPhone 7 Plus has dual camera until I looked my one at its back.
2. Originality is what makes everyone standout. The horrible looking ones are always the one being noticed, while the better ones are usually ignored ('cause they're perfect already).
The horrible design will grow on to people and they'll eventually accept it as time goes by, maybe even falling in love with it.

Anonymous, 19 Apr 2018To all XIAOMI fab0y$ stay away on this news and stop compar... moreOkay, but we are just sharing our thoughts on the phone.
There's a reason why there's a comment section here. People are just doing their thing.
Truth be told, the phones are really nice. But let's also be honest, the pricing is quite ridiculous.
Xiaomi has proven themselves to be a trustworthy brand and that their products can easily compete with the ones from the big dogs while offering them at a much more reasonable and accessible price to the community.
So it does put Motorola into a hard pressure for offering the phones at such steep prices.
Every brand was like Xiaomi before; a small company that makes great high-quality phones for excellent price. Even Samsung went into the path of what Xiaomi is currently at right now. But now, look how big they are.
Xiaomi has gained the trust of the consumers and they're doing their best to hold it true, but Motorola is just getting more aggressive with pricing though the excellent quality products.
