Counterclockwise: the rise of the metal phone

Plastic is cheap and easy to work with, but it didn't cut it for premium handsets. Will another material overtake metal in phones? Not any time soon.

I'd always go for a full metal phone with antenna bands, for heat dissipation, toghness and no smudges / fingerprints.
Wireless charging isn't much to me at the moment

i'm still not entirely sure what the back of my Z1 Compact is made of. i think it's plastic, since it scratches quite easily. but it's one that feels rather nice to the touch.
still, i'd prefer a metal back. sandblasted aluminum would be awesome.
don't think the glass sandwich is going to cease anytime soon, though, especially for higher end models. not as long as wireless charging is a desired development.
wooden backs of some sort might be interesting

Android Authority, 22 Apr 2018Its for us to choose actually, if you want wireless chargin... moreActually metal body is the worse.

If you dont like to use a case, metal phone will be dameged easier than glass or plastic.
Those phones with glass and metal frame, the frames age faster.

Its for us to choose actually, if you want wireless charging then phones with glass panel is the answer but if you're into durability then metal back is the option.
