paco2x, 25 Apr 2018I don't think the classic iPhone will go away so easily, lo... moreI don't blame them.
Firstly, price.
TouchID much more convenient, responsive, and secure than FaceID.
The notch REMOVES screen from the user, it does NOT add.
The 19:9 weird aspect ratio makes the phone UNNECESSARILY tall.
Navigation was UNintuitive, and straight rip-off from RIM's BBX OS.

The camera's between the 8, 8 Plus, and X are very close. Performance is the same. They're all very fragile. Battery life is worse on the 8, better on the 8 Plus, X in the middle. Really, the biggest advantage the iPhone X has over the 8 Plus (and to a degree the 8) is the Samsung Active-Matrix OLED panel.

I don't think the classic iPhone will go away so easily, lots of people still don't like the gesture control of the X and even with the huge bezel, many people likes the Home button and the old school design of the iPhone 8.

In other news, cheaper phones sell more than pricer ones.

"China's Smartphone Market Shrank 8% in Q1 2018 While Apple's iPhone Sales beat the Trend Spectacularly"

"Apple grew 32% YoY in China due to strong performance of its iPhone X. While the promotions were not aggressive for the iPhone X, except in operator channels, its demand remains healthy in the market."

Once you've got a 64 bit phone with a fingerprint scanner and a decent screen, only a few people really need any more. Which is why there's lots of midrange Androids.

SakshamGupta30, 25 Apr 2018People didn't want to embrace the notch lolit's got more to do with that 1000$ price tag. Totally insane. And people who bought them.....well not everyone uses their mind while buying phones.

Thank God!!Now they'll think twice before selling a 1000$ phone. It's very good for consumer that iPhone X fails

People didn't embrace the price tag en mass. In Canada, carriers re-launched the iPhone 6! And people are still buying it!

It's not the notch, it's the $1K plus price tag, anyone who spends $1K on a smartphone needs to get themselves checked.

Had it. Low frequency pwm is a real issue on the iPhone X. Took it back and got the AIDS red 8+ instead.

Considered iPhone 8 plus but could not justify its price in my place, and it is sold quite a few hundred dollars more than probably it's worth...

its not just the notch on the screen you get with the iphone x its the notch in your bank balance. People only buy something like that because they want to be a cellsnob.

Simply because it’s too expensive & not many can afford it. I hope Apple gets its prices right this year with iPhone XI.

People didn't want to embrace the notch, but big OEM players did.
