ZTE patents another dual notch display smartphone design

The two cut-outs appear a lot smaller than on the company's other recent "Iceberg" design concept.

I fully approve of dual-notch design if it means we get front-facing stereo speakers on every upcoming phone. Any speaker should always be pointing towards our face for best experience, and that applies to phones too. This setup was starting to get mass-adapted too until the whole stupid bezel-less trend started which halted the adaptation.

Hopefully with dual-notches, we'll finally get that back. That way the bezel-less fans will get their thing & us front-facing stereo speakers fans will get our thing at the same time.

            let's get serious
            the original design wasn't bad dual speakers for sound quality bottom notch for gesture and upper notch for notifications
            the problem is until now I haven't seen any nubia phone with OLED and OLED is important for deep blacks and battery saving on hide notch option (most likely it won't have it since ZTE PROUDLY added dual notch they won't bother hidden them ;$)
            BUT after the heavy haters Attack ZTE thought that the problem was in the screen design not the notch nor the iceberg corners (how STUPID is that? it is crystal clear the problem was in the notch/corners) they give us a set if an EVEN UGLIER less (if not NON) functional design
            serusly? you couldn't let go your ICONIC front finger? oh wait what about an empty screen cute out? it is TOTALLY unfunctional BUT it looks beautiful and mysterious };$)
            in my opinion if it had AMOLED screen and dual STEREO speakers AND hide notch and gesture software it will be the perfect example of a smart bezel
            BUT I don't think it will sell in Europe since NONE loves a copycat

Vertical symmetry (left and right side if you compare with a mirror going vertical from bottom to top at the middle) would not be any different without a second notch on the bottom and horizontal symmetry is closer now but not really that important. A square is symmetrical but I'd rather have a proper shape and design rather than moaning about symmetry

              A second notch only serves to create more wasted space that might look nice if you spend all your time staring at your phone with the wallpaper on but phones are generally in use or not so either looking at the centre or not looking at them at all.

              If people don't like a design they don't, I don't share yours (and I've seen a few others) crazy obsession with symmetry and I'd share the same sentiment as your last sentence when people use words like 'hideous' and 'ugly' over Samsung and other phones then praise the notches. It's just different tastes, I got a phone with a notch (Huawei p20) and I've grown to like them more but my ideal phone wouldn't have a notch.

                I will like to see phone like vivo apex with no underscreen fingerprint (rear mounted is better) and i don't mind if there is no selfie cam

                  Actually, the symmetricality of the notch makes that thing look way better with just one notch.
                  Although I don't want front fingerprint scanner, the symmetry of the phone makes it look beautiful even with a notch, but then I guess no one can plead the people with the notch.

                  Maybe one can make the most beautiful notch device (that seriously even looks better than the Galaxy flagship phones) and it would still be hated just because it has a notch.

                      Two notches ... Nice!!! But how big is it and how many cameras does it have? Cos without a 6.99 inch screen and at least 4 cameras, it's nothing special.

                              I won't buy it until it has three maybe four notches!!
                              maybe a selfe hole in the middle that will do!!!
                              and add glass corners and edge screen maybe full glass unibody with no water protection
                              and give it one fancy A$$ name something like:-
                              SUPER DUPER FULL VIEW AXON MAXON nubia ZTE X
                              PS if someone posted the same thing I won't be surprised
                              some one did that in the "ICEBERG" page!!!

                                Maybe the notches have a purpose? (Like stereo speakers which ZTE does best)
                                Also, it's a semi iPhone X and semi Essential Phone design though. Look.

                                        Actually i was wondering why no one did it before. It is a nice way to fitt in everything. However it may be symmetrical but how practical is the question?
