AnonD-20221, 02 Sep 2011The whole point of a phone is just to make calls and text??... moreBecause our culture is driven by consumerism.
The media tells people that having more is better, the latest greatest is great.
Just because the majority is doing a certain thing a certain way, doesn't necessarily mean it's the best thing to do for everyone.

This phone is obviously not designed for the smart phone market. I work in a phone shop, and have at least 10 people a day ask if we have tradie phones, because they are builders or something similar, where they need their phones to just be able to survive the job, NOT something iphones can do. Good on them for applying to a different maket.

I accept the phone is tough and maybe good but it cant beat the high end Androids and iPhones on features... And truth is this phone is not made to do any competition with Android or Apple or any other manufacturer out there... It is made so as to be tough... And it succeeds...

o you Iphone lovers, to the clever man saing that there isn't any apps let me tell you, I have around 80 apps and many of them I use every day just as my boss use iphone 4. I have youtube downloater, compas, gmail app, bible, dictionarry in 30 languages, video editing app, nimbuzz, fring, google talk, I download mpg4 or mp3 from youtube with java app. I recomend you chek before you talk, because it's a java phone and format jad, and jar are alot older than your iphones, that means that there are many jad and jar app for Sonim phones.

AnonD-20221, 02 Sep 2011The whole point of a phone is just to make calls and text??... moreso...wait, let me get this straight. you saying the whole point of a MOBILE PHONE is not to be a PHONE? so why is it people who have a tablet (which does everything a modern phone does, except the phone bit) ALSO buy a phone? a lot of the customers i deal with use their phone to call, and text. Of course phones that do extra stuff sell better. im not disputing that fact. i pointing out that the whole reason behind having a phone is, at the very basic level, to allow you to call and text. that is the point in having it. again, if it wasnt, people would just buy a tablet.
