AnonD-704307, 04 May 2018More like "let me buy the phone, but don't make me send it... moreIt costs as much to fix it then to just buy the phone again.

They came to Brazil with only low-end models and they were ignored, unfortunately.
I still love this company and it's products, but directly importing from China.

Carol, 04 May 2018Why would anyone buy a xiaomi in europe, beats me.... it wi... moreGo get your beloved nokia that dont have service too. Last year i needed to waste half a year on a Nokia repair and still got it back broken. Now i dont care about the brand anymore and will go with either Xiaomi or Meizu or even Asus. If the phone cost under 200 euro and last 2 years no problems then i dont see a point why i need service center for them. If the phone broke down you go and buy new one and dont need to cry a river and waste your nervs on guarantee. In here Estonia all shops and internet shop and carriers dont want to go trough the guarantee process and want to screw everyone over. Never ever they want to give you money back or replace it when it's broken. They have it in there contract but none of them want to fallow the contract.

So i dont see a point to go with well known brand and pay more for it for no good reason when the support will be weak with every brand in here.

This particular news is regarding carriers, but i don't think Xiaomi will expand exclusively with carriers. I think they are working with Amazon (even more, because they already sell some products in Amazon) and other chain of electronic stores. IMO what is not going to happen soon is Xiaomi propietary shops.
Now, even if i am wrong above, having deals with carriers in the EU will help Xiaomi adapt and fit regulation and legal prospects in the EU. Thus, even if they initially expand through carriers, it will be much easy for them to expand through stores in a second moment.

It'll be interesting which models they stock and how they modify them. I suspect they'll make them single SIM or disable some features. Hope the don't jack up the prices too much.

Hoping the Mi Mix 3 will rival the upcomming all-bezel-less phones like Vivo Apex and Doogee Mix 4 when it comes no bezel and even more important - no notch - but still selfie camera on top, rather than bottom. And also finger print sensor built in to the screen. Otherwise I might have to switch from Xiami to Vivo, and I can't stand their ios-like UI :/

Carol, 04 May 2018Why would anyone buy a xiaomi in europe, beats me.... it wi... moreQuality is decent and yes it's 20$ less but in the mid tire and for a much better hardware. If you think GSM carriers don't cash in even more than that they so called give you with cheaper device price you are very naive. Official support & service center's from either Xiaomi or carrier is needed still.

Hopefully Xiaomi will fix proper carrier aggregation support on their international phones then, since now it's not properly supported if at all.
