Would have been uglier for Samsung if it weren’t for the early S9 launch. Q2 2018 should be bad for Samsung compared to Q2 2017. (S8 full quarter vs S9 partial quarter and S8 is tracking higher than S9 in sales too).

While you upload your photos to a instagram or facebook there is a size limit and your photo will lose a lot of it's quality thanks to there size limits and system to make the size lower so you lose a lot of quality. These 200 phones can do good quality pictures too if the picture taker knows how to work with the manual settings to take pictures. Most use auto settings anyways so there you lose the quality of them and then you upload them to a place where it loses more quality.

No-one even considers leaving home without their phone, so essentially you are making the big-ask of carrying another device. The use-case he presented very much benefits from being as lean as possible, so the golden rule applies when taking photos.

What would a hike in numbers prove anyway? I do rejoice when I read news of declines, in fact. A decline may be a con for these "profit"-heads companies but the way I see it a pro equivalent is that we would be having L-E-S-S e-waste. It is not like they are able to sell all the phones they move (eyes on some of them releasing disappointing and unsatisfactory models). Do we actually need more of these unsold e-waste idling on inventory shelves?

Is there a reason China brands become more durable to decrease the consumer from changing smartphones more often?

Night photography matters to me.... moreIf you want a better night photography rig, you better buy a proper camera not a phone, a compact APS-C like the Sony A6000 and big aperture lens like the 50mm 1.8f will make wonders, better and cheaper than any expensive smartphone in the market.

I think we'll keep seeing declines. Thousand dollar flagships are part of the reason for that. And the addition of smartphones being boring and basically the same thing
