Redskitter, 09 May 20184G+ is working well in Philippines Telecom so it works too ... moreNot true at all! There are many 4G+-combinations used in different countries. That one combination happen to work in the Philippines say nothing.

4G+ is working well in Philippines Telecom so it works too in France and Italy. We have the same bands around the world except the U.S.

Now it's 2018 and there is no reason not to have it work properly with 4G+ as supported by the SoC (and even supported on the Chinese versions in China). 4G+ gives better speeds, stability and coverage. Now the "global" phones are second class to compared to the Chinese models in China.

Just adding bands 4 and 20 and then calling it a day isn't that impressive, nor does it make the phone global... RN3SE was much more global, but no 4G+ at all (even though the Chinese version had it).

DaXiong, 08 May 2018Without LTE band 20 and without European carrier aggregatio... moreBand 20 is included in every Xiaomi phone.. With "Global version" sticker.. They sell global versions in the past 2-3 years.. Real problem with Xiaomi phones was availibility in EU, now i guess it won't be, anymore.

I imagine t... moreWithout LTE band 20 and without European carrier aggregation combinations they can't pretend to be a serious handset manufacturer in Europe. Also it's common that China only phones don't work properly in Europe.

Time to fix proper 4G+ support for countries outside of China then! (No, that some phones support 3+3 or 3+7 and a few more combinations isn't good enough)

AnonD-754294, 08 May 2018these phones are trashFor the amount of money one pays.... I have to admit I am actually very pleasantly surprised regarding the quality of Xiaomi's handsets. I will admit that being Canadian I may be somewhat biased seeing as our cellphones cost a ton for very little featurewise, relative to what actually exists out on the market.
However, even a budget handset like the Redmi 4A performs admirably for just $130 Canadian pesos when it's on sale. If I didn't like top-specs-near-flagship phones (I'm into this tech, so I like the powerful ones) I would be very tempted to take a look at their offerings.
Hell, I still probably would, if Chinese handsets had better expected compatibility with Canadian networks.

german_turk, 08 May 2018What about Germany?Borders never stopped Germany before, right?
I imagine this is the preface to a large expansion throughout the EU. Not really much work if you think about it, unlike NA, EU already employs most of the same frequency bands China does. They can basically just ship the stock they already make for their domestic market instead of having to retool or make significant software modifications to accommodate NA's choice of wireless.
The availability/compatibility of Chinese handsets with European networks is something I will fully admit to be a bit jealous of. Canadian cellular choice is abysmal and it's rare I can find one that works with my carrier, least of all because my carrier is niche among niche....
