Just too much bells and whistles when I still cannot depend on Google Play entirely to download apps and games that I want. I use apkmonk.com and other 3rd party sites, and here we have a useless new features coming up... Meh!

naap51d, 08 May 2018IT'S-A-PHONE. IT'S-JUST-SOFTWARE Phones, have become a t... moreWrong. Phones become jewels and status symbols. People are primitive, therefore the main thing they care about is brand name and looks. That's why the phones are getting worse and worse. Manufacturers remove the most essential features like removable battery, 3.5mm jack, ... and create the worst possible designs like curved screen edges and corners, no bezels, notch, ... Just because the braindead people care only about how the glass curves reflect the light. That's why they're obsessed with the crap design of phones in the past 2 years. And the reviewers intentionally brainwash / spoil people so the consumers will look for these things in phones and consider phones as jewelries, fashion accessories instead of all in one, high tech tools. (10 years ago people used to consider phones as high tech tools instead of jewelries.)

Good God... call me a nostalgic; but everything was so simple and more quiet in the good ol' Symbian days...

Hope Nokia X series will come with their own os tired of android not providing new features on their OS. They are retained only due to their huge apps marketplace

1ns0mniac, 09 May 2018iOS copied the gestures from Palm OS, not from BlackBerry. ... moreThere's no 'WOW' factor in Android. But there's the 'I've seen this in iOS and it's cool' factor instead.

double swipe for task switcher. now that's effective gesture.
they have to remove something, to keep up with the competition, to show how brave they are.
after removable battery, headphone jack, and now the victim is the Overview Button.

"Better start researching before saying things". My point was, Google deliberately did that to get the 'WOW factor' of iOS in android.

1ns0mniac, 09 May 2018Shameless iOS copy, which is not even necessary.Lol. iOS copied the swipe up to get to homescreen from Blackberry 10 OS, and tap to wake from LG "knock codes". Better start researching before saying they copied iOS

                    Where's the dark mode?

All I want is the dark mode for the Android, too much white on the UI. And I have no plans on downloading another launcher or installing a custom ROM for that.

Gestures are confusing. One day I remember them and use them, the next day I'll forget them and have to relearn them. It's kinda impractical. I'd rather have good ol' buttons.

Anonymous, 08 May 2018The navigation methods is to support notch phones. Move to ... moreI don't like to use gestures to navigate, I tried on the iPhone X and don't like it, can be confusing and not practical in a hurry. Hope those "ancient" software buttons are still available in the future.

They might as well have just gotten rid of all the software keys and go full gestures for navigation.
My Redmi 5 Plus can already be turned into an iPhone X with the full screen display option, except mine doesn't have a horrible notch.

I have been using PIE Control for 4 years now, so I would love to see a gesture based navigation feature! The notch is overrated! As long as the OS knows how to handle it properly as well as an option to hide it (for the haters) then it is fine.
