They give you some "free" things, but you get to pay for them with all your personal details, personal data, and they get to influence your decisions with content targeting as the algorhythm dictates, based on which companies pay the most for advertising.
It's one thing to pay money for services, and that is totally normal, but it's a whole different thing to give away your personal data and your actions log in exchange for services. Using Google and its products and services turns you into a sheep.
