There are phones in these brands that came with Android O out-of-box and were enabled with "treble" hence they can get their phones updated to "P" as early as any other stock android based phone. Think before commenting..

Installed this on my Pixel 2 XL and all I can say is WOW. Google knocked it out of the park with such a good initial beta release. I've encountered only 2 bugs over the course of my 1st day and I love the new gesture navbar! (which is entirely optional, mind you.)

DonAlduck, 09 May 2018IMO the new navbar is terrible... It would have beengreat, ... moreHiding the navbar works quite well. You just swipe up from the bottom edge to bring it out. That way, you aren't taking up screen space. So there isn't any real reason to remove it altogether.

As soon as Apple launched the iPhone X, Google jumped right in and implemented everything back into Android; first it was support for the notch, now it's gestures.
I have been wanting gestures on phones since ever but only BlackBerry OS, Meego and Sailfish OS used them. Now, if Apple did it, it's all of a sudden cool to have gestures.
Google is full of lame copycats...
Just like Microsoft never could and never will be able to make a good browser (I'm typing this on the piece of crap that is Edge on Windows 10 Mobile), Google will never be able to make a good UI unless they copy it from Apple because there's no one else left to copy. They just don't get it.

IMO the new navbar is terrible... It would have beengreat, if they would have actually remove the bar itself - so it would take less space up on the screen and would be controlled by the back button and the new gestures.
As it stands right now, the difference is literally only just the AI features and the gesture support that doesn't seem to be implemented properly - no matter how much research have gone into it.
I'll keep it quiet now, I have not yet tried it, so this is only and strictly my first impression. Let's hope that it'll get drastically better when it goes public (looks wise), there's still a long way to go.

I am not buying this crap any more(you buy the "top range" phone and even within' a year you don't gear any major OS update)...

As for adaptive battery Samsung implimentation is not as advanced sorry go read how both work in detail.

Whydo you ask Samsung? Samsung already have many of these features like Adaptive Brightness and the Battery Adaption.
It's almost as if Google is playing catch up to Samsung on their own OS, lol.
