Android platform distribution numbers for May are out, Oreo crosses 5% mark

Oreo's market share now stands at 5.7%, up from the 4.6% figure that was revealed last month.

Good thing Hua... moreHuawei seems to be doing good so far, updating their last 2 flagships (Mate 10 and P10) plus some older flagships like the Mate 9 and P9 (my P10 already has Oreo since around March + 1 Security patch in April). Sony also is do well in doing OS updates. Can't say the same thing for brands like Samsung and LG.

    Anonymous, 09 May 2018And as always, the most common way to get the latest Androi... moreOr buy the high-end to flagship phones which will get one or two OS updates instead of cheaping out and buying a midrange to low-end one which will probably never get an OS update, and avoiding brands which are notorious for slow OS updates like Samsung and LG and instead going for those that offer faster updates like Pixel or Sony.

      And as always, the most common way to get the latest Android version is to throw away your mobile and buy a new one, producing lots of electronic waste. I'm fed up with this.

        Good thing Huawei responded my feedback about major updates and said that my Y7 Prime will be updated to Oreo before ending 2018.
