Shanti Dope, 10 May 2018The idea of making the USB C as the new 3.5mm jack is cool,... moreTrue. Even Samsung and LG still keeping as their main selling point on most of their smartphones.

The idea of making the USB C as the new 3.5mm jack is cool, but the problem is that they're not that popular enough to make it a standard.

SirAlucard, 10 May 2018Sorry, it does not have a headphone jack. However, instead ... moreOhhh spam more please?
HTC Boomsound is one of a heck feature that not even Samsung's Adapt Sound can match. (LG's Quad DAC is still the king of smartphone audio industry "in ear" and Razer Phone's unmatchable stereo speakers)

They need carriers and high street stores to support it. The U11plus attempt was a textbook example of what not to do. For UK buyers, if the carriers and Carphone Warehouse etc do not stock it, might as well not bother. Yes, there are other options, like Clove, but I would suspect that the number that use that route, or buy from HTC direct, to be a single digit percentage. I looked for the data but couldn't get the exact figures. My estimate would be that 85% or greater, buy their (top end) phones on contract. Assuming that HTC gets those its right, then the device needs to smash it out of the park, and recent credible rumours to not suggest that will happen. In my experience, an LCD device typically will require a little more juice, so a 4000mA would be the ideal, less than that and you start creeping into territory that is awash with devices. The cameras need to be top end, with the usual portrait feature etc. Wireless charging needs to be in there, if only for those that want it, it being a tiny cost feature. If they top any of the BCS (Battery,Camera,Screen) categories, then they have a chance. I suspect though that they won't top any. I also suspect carrier and high street store interest will be slight, at best.

Anonymous, 10 May 2018If this has a 3.5 mm jack then I'm all over it! Sorry, it does not have a headphone jack. However, instead you get USB C headphones that when plugged in are amazing. They only work with the phone though.

Okay this device is doomed. I dont see HTC recording better sales with U12+ than the U11. Atleast not pricing wise.

no notch, top specs, if the rear camera is as good/better than the U11+ and the price remains competitive... we may have a winner :-)

HTC is still solid even if they are struggling on the competition. If that QC 4 and other cool features are present, then it will be a good time for them to regain in business.
