My first android experience was with 2.3 gingerbread. Android was fully matures and offered full functionality, I am glad I moved to Android at that time

Instead of IOS where one person have no clue what other is doing :-)

AnonD-731363, 30 May 2018Well i am such a clever guy yay :-)As for your thought about making an OS, I remember I explained it on one toe (not even a foot) that an OS is a software that requires HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of people to make one. The OS is the SOUL of the device. And an improper coding can very quickly break the device. And have no support.
Maybe KirinOS will be a good rival to Android. I'm curious

Who should like IOS? The OS which restrict you from almost everything.
If i were such clever guy i should make own OS but thats too much work and skill also experience which i dont have so ive sticked to best whats possible to get on the market which is Android.
Even blackberry had own OS and sticked to Android they knew why.
Soon even apple will stick to android because too much bugs and laggs.

Ive had android since Froyo, Xperia Play, my 2nd android "I forgot the budget samsung i got before" and now im on Mi Mix 2.

Android gone a long way... No doubt, from the heavily cluttered UI to smooth friendly experience

I kinda miss the gallery app on gingerbread though

Excellent compilation. Worth reading, Even we do not use all the features what each android updates gives us, still expectation are always high.

I have used android since v 2.3 till 8.1 and i can say that progress of android in just 8 years is outstanding.

Because Android is open source and gives app developers incentive, in any given year I could do ten things with my Android phone that iOS can't do. I can still say that today honestly. Using a Pixel 2 and loving the OS, camera, and custom UI. I do hate losing a headphone jack, and I'm sad Android supports the notch, both are terrible Apple ideas. Google needs to ignore Apple instead of emulating them, it's never good for us.

A big is fixed it means another new one is there. Also it becomes slower after some updates. Android managed to get more and more smooth.
