Samsung has quickly made up ground in the area of desgn & innovation by initially copying the iPhone model design. Fast forward to now, where Samsung has established themselves as a innovation force, I can't help but wonder without the rocket fuel provided in the form of the iphone, would Samsung product line be light years ahead of the competion or for example in the mobile market, just slightly better than the Samsung Eternity painfully experienced by consumers a couple of years ago. Now it appears Samsung, pro open source addvicates, and innocent consumers do not want to pay any patent taxes. I hate the current patent system in it's current form, however, in such a cut throat competive industry, you can't have it both ways.

All the fanboys on here seem to think that Samsung is copying and infringing and that's why Apple is sueing. When in reality Samsung copied absolutely nothing just made something better and apple is actually getting away wiith sueimg Samsung for copying their design when the design is a common design and not their own.

You can tell a fanboy apart from a consumer when reading the comments.. Fanboys seem to think that apple is only suing because Samsung is a competition, if you actually think without involving fanboyism Apple is not only suing Samsung due to the form factor, Im sure there are some more patent infringements that are undisclose. But I do agree that APPLE being the only company to be able to use round edges and a rectangular form is pretty stupid indeed.

Well i think that this is ironic, Htc has just bought patents fronm google that apple is infringing on! what you sow is what you'll reep.

Yeah, unbelievable, they interviewed public in america, and 60% of them advised they will purchase android... this is a act of fear, and apple know they have a inferior product. I dont' mind apple, i just don't like iphones, but i will now longer look at apple for purchases, as they are a bunch of 'i want everything' pricks.

I think Apple is jealous of the success of Samsung and Android and it’s down to its last option to stay in the market. In other words Apple sucks, it can’t even fix the problem with its iPhone 5 (if there is one) and the only thing Apple is looking for is “MONEY” and the victim here is the customer; Apple should be grounded for life!.

If Apple was innovative and unique and brought lots of new technology while Samsung was a big company of Tyrants and they tried sueing without any real pantent infringements going on just cause they were both slender and simple looking and then submitted tampered evidence...would that be ok no. Just as it is not ok now that apple is doing this. Samsung copied nothing. Its litterally stated that they copied nothing so where everyone keeps getting that samsung is infringing patents is beyond me. Apple is winning just because they are slender with rounded edges which is most electronics and they are far from the first to have designes like this

There is no patent infringements, no copying, nothing stolen. Just devices that have a slight similarity soly in the fact that they are simple in desing, slender, and with rounded edges. Everyhting else in ui, hardware, and remaining appearence is vastly different. And Samsung is much more advanced and innovative. And yet somehow(based on grounds that nobody even has the right to claim) apple is still winning. They even entered tampered evidence and are not getting in any trouble for that. And if the galaxies were such copies in the first place then why did apple have to photoshop the tab to look like and Ipad?? The fact is Apple is doing something very wrong but they have an evily good legal team and possibly make good payoffs or have ifans in the courts. So in that matter yes...they know they probably won't be hurt. And as crazy as that sounds it must be true unless you can explain how else they could get away with such illegal action

I suspect the German judge took bribe from Apple, as the judgement said "clear impression of similarity" is so ridiculous! Ford Motor may sue all other car manufacturers base on this from their Model T. Apple is a loser and bully.
