Or You can continue to live in your own bubble if you want, but please don't write ignorant posts without any research.
And I don't give a damn whether Nokia is Chinese or Japanese or finnish. Have some shame before throwing wild allegations.

They must have planned the global launch from the very beginning, this was just a PR stunt - and a clever one.

Anonymous, 19 May 2018Exactly. And people like that guy simply mix cheap and vfm ... moreDude you need to seriously consider your statement of Value for Money.
Your Income cannot be compared to an income of another country.
So what may be premium for you may be Value for Money in other countries.
The average pay and standard of living between 2 countries is different.
For Eg the Minimum Wage in India is 15k for highly skilled workers per month and the minimum wage in Europe is around 15€ Per Hour in general may vary depending on the job and country.
So do the math as to how much an European earns per month.
Your are trying to push value for money as per your perspective and spending power.
But your not willing to agree to the bigger picture.

Androidloveralways, 19 May 2018Hahhahahahah. Xiaomi is the fourth largest brand in europe.... moreLol.
Xiaomi is the 4 the largest brand in Europe its funny how you call others facts distorted and your facts right.
Xiaomi is not even available all around Europe just some countries.
Its the 4th largest overall mainly because of India and China.
Because their phones are cheap.
Rolf.
Also Shame on you when you try to prove a point that Nokia is Chinese and can't provide a source to back your statement.

Androidloveralways, 19 May 2018Hahhahahahah. Xiaomi is the fourth largest brand in europe.... moreExactly. And people like that guy simply mix cheap and vfm in such a way that it hurts. People all over the world want VFM. Except carrier centric and brain washed people. The main reason so called ultra premium devices sell
Premium phones can be VFM, but just buying one due to brand loyalty.... sorry, but thanks

Androidloveralways, 19 May 2018Wow. Nokia fanboys seems to be very much paranoid about Xia... moreNo one is paranoid about a Cheap brand like Xiaomi its just that its fanboys keep comparing it with brands like Motorola ,Nokia and have come to expect same prices of Xiaomi for the Corresponding phones that other manufacturers are putting out.
Which is not even comparable to the cheap quality that Xiaomi offers which is only good for developing countries.
Also this is seriously hurting premium brands that strive to provide quality rather than just pile up junk in the market.

HMD Global will design, sell, promote and do customer support for Nokia-branded devices. FIH Mobile will manufacture, and do R&D for HMD. Nokia will oversee all segments of the business, and has a seat on HMD’s board of directors.
So, HMD isn't Chinese at all.

Anonymous, 18 May 2018Here we go again... ad hominems started already when nothin... moreHMD’s owner is a private equity fund, SmartConnect LP, but neither Nokia, Foxconn or Microsoft have equity in the new company. The fund is “managed by Jean-Francois Baril, a former Nokia executive, as well as by HMD management. The Board of HMD will consist of five members, including one representative from Nokia,” according to HMD.
HMD products are built by a unit of Foxconn after it acquired the manufacturing and distribution assets of the former Nokia phone business from Microsoft last year.
HMD reminds us it has exclusive access to the pre-eminent global sales and distribution network to be acquired by FIH from Microsoft, as well as access to FIH’s world-leading device manufacturing and engineering capabilities, and its growing suite of proprietary mobile technologies and components.

“Because of your ignorance your trying to prove that Nokia is Chinese when none of the people involved in its management are Chinese nor the investment is Chinese.”
You might want to check that again.
And why are you writing about “Nokia” when the point here is Nokia-branded devices. Nokia is another company as I’m sure you are aware.

Merwyn Fernandes, 18 May 2018You are ignorant.
If Nokia is a subsidy of Foxconn.
S... moreHere we go again... ad hominems started already when nothing else is left, haha. I don’t have to prove you anything but I can assure you I’ve never owned a Chinese brand phone.
Foxconn is in desperate need to reduce their dependence on customers such as Apple in case they go knock someone else’s doors. Starting their own in-house phone manufacturing through HMD Global fits in the picture perfectly.
