So the result may not be exactly "better" from previous. Of course, if you're seriously asking the question "What's the point of the update if the new version is not better than the previous?" then my answer would be it's useless.

Do you see a similar patent g... morePatents are awarded when they have enough proof that the object was invented by that individual or that company..im not a patent expert but i know that patents arent given away without evidence...everyone should be able to protect their invention.u wouldnt want someone to steal ur ideas and make billions of dollars and give u nothing..patents are patents no matter how big or small they are.

AnonD-5197, 12 Sep 2011Google didn't "promise" that the new version woul... moreThere is plenty of users that believe their devices are perfect...well they have their rights to think that, but there is already users that are "fanatics" pointing any device (as you mention) but In fact when Google announce the appear of Ice Cream they virtually says "this OS will change everything" well, some users expect that, but was just promises.
I hope Google don't start to waste time in useless words over updates and make something new and good indeed. For now I'm kinda happy BUT I hope don't see more "bug fixes" with funny names making users believe they are a totally "revamped" Update for the OS.

so........... what changed in this version exactly, except the GUI?
I mean are they doing things like system optimizations, new apps, functionality improvements etc? or are they just rearranging a few icons and increasing the version number?

Imagine this Rectangular shape patent being enforced in refrigerators or cars, or plastic cups that cannot be round but have to be square, pyramid shaped or whatever.

It is a known fact that legislation is ALWAYS behind on technology and this is a typical case. There is no general consensus on the fact that a tablet, for example, has a very strict 'ideal form-factor' even though most of us know this is true. There have been no proxy cases for this kind of technology, there is no precedent, but you may well encounter a revised statement on the current case Apple/Samsung by next year, when legislation has been altered and updated to the new state of technology.

It's not really a shocker is it? Google always promise so much and deliver it badly like the tablet OS yes its going to be a world changer didn't happen Android tablets still lag and offer much in the way of apps. So I take it we are going to have to wait even longer for a decent music store and also a decent film one because they are in beta? Come on Google I really want to stick with you but Apple will be cracking it up when it comes to having a decent Eco system.
