You mean smartphone... moreSorry but pretty much everything you said regarding OLED vs IPS LCD is incorrect.
OLED monitors are used by professionals, however they are still very expensive. In fact the only OLED monitors you can currently buy are for professional use.
Commercial cinemas generally use Laser or DLP projectors, not LCD. There is no such thing as an IPS LCD projector as IPS refers to the display panel type.
OLED is superior to LCD in pretty much every way, especially for gaming. It has faster response time, wider viewing angle and much higher contrast ratio. The only thing LCD does better is peak brightness and even then only by a small margin.
Many car manufacturers including Lexus, Tesla, Cadillac and Mercedes either already use OLED displays or are planning to in their upcoming models.

that price is ridiculous come on htc i was hoping for something good here. maybe if it had a bigger battery, headphone jack and proper front facing speakers 900 would be ok but damn it doesn't

For photo editing you need color accurate displays with access to LUT. Nobody is making a single OLED display with access to hardware calibration so they can't be used by photographers.

OEM's must find a way to go out of Qualcomm claws...it is terrible how they ruined phone market with their overpriced SoC's.
Same goes for the Samsung's OLED.
Now all flagships with their parts costs just too much

As always, HTC makes fantastic & beautiful phones, but priced so wrong. It should at most be at $650.

Thanks to the second camera, this will score high on dxomark. You know, those bokeh and zoom sub scores skew the final score favoring devices with tele cam. Won't be surprised if it manages to claim a spot in the top five or top three. Heck, probably tomorrow HTC could announce this for some bragging rights.
Not that I put so much weight in dxomark though.

At 900 dollars it will be an epic fail as always because Samsung is just better both in quality and marketing.
Bring it down to 5-600 dollars where it belongs and people will buy it like hot cakes.

Shanti Dope, 22 May 2018Sadly, many software developers prioritize to optimize thei... morequalcomm chips are just better in every way, are more efficient,have faster gpus,they continously update the security patches much faster than mediatek...intel isnt really into smartphone bussiness sadly,,so they can price their chips higher because they are simply better..also prices are not that much higher as we think,,just look at redmi note 5 with sd 636 for like $250..i mean 636 is a great chip in this range...
