By today's standards it's just another flagship like the others. There is no innovation in phones these days. They absolutely look all alike. The design choices have become so copied and accepted that phones look too generic. And sadly, with these bland designs and the exactly same technology that is inside every other flagship phone, brands still charge us an unacceptable price.

No wireless charging, downgraded battery size, qc 3 out of the box. Buttons that sound bad, and likely to record so many false touches. If you have a glass back, mediocre battery size, and no headphone jack, then the least you could do is incorporate wireless charging. Take some strain off the single port. £629 UK price, in HTC Club.

All I see is another oversized generic slab of glass with the same hardware as 98% of the other "flagships" out there.

Too bad phone makers don't have the nerve to actually innovate like they did 5 or 6 years ago. Now all they know how to do is copy each other's designs.

Set 10 different makes on a table face up and 99% of the population couldn't tell which is which. There is NOTHING unique now, nothing that makes people go "oh, I want that".

Pathetic brain-dead designers and consumers who will accept the same junk year after year just because it is the "new model".

For god sake - another tablet.
What is the point to launch phone after phone in same size - does RAM/MEMORY really are main differentiators between target groups?

I need phone what i can carry in my pocket. Since M7 HTC has completely lost it. M7 with some up to date tech would be awesome phone...

Shanti Dope, 23 May 2018I mean, why the f*c**n hell does it still matter? Bezels a... moreBecause phones already look like bricks. Making them even a little bit bigger *is* making them that much more ucomfrotable to hold and store. HTC could just use what everybody else in the industry uses (a notch + notifications in black backgrouhd buried in the horns) and make the phone noticeably less tall, but noooo fanboys spoke, they need a huge phone.

...there is a reason why HTC doesn't sell, very few think like fnaboys, too bad that HTC is listening to them (did the same with"stereo" sound and using a huge front face to accomodate it, which most certainly took *away* sales from them).

Xhxhyy, 23 May 2018€700 for this thing? HTC doesn't really wanna compete with ... moreWhy on earth would a company like HTC compete with Xiaomi, Get some sense man seriously.

HTC phones are some of the most premium phones out there and Xiaomi are the most cheap phones out there.

Everything from the building and construction to the materials used are premium in the case of HTC , They have better tech in and out.

Everything you see on phones today that companies like Xiaomi and OnePlus have ripped off were invented by Companies like Sony , HTC , Nokia , Samsung ,LG etc etc.

Xiaomi sells in emerging markets for one reason and one reason only the price, in these markets quality is not really a priority.

Please don't compare legacy brands to cheap Chinese clones. They may not be doing well in terms of sales but atleast respect the fact that they were the first manufacturer to experiment with Android and the reason why today Android is so popular.

At the same time back then Xiaomi was busy ripping of iOS with its miui and BKK ( OnePlus , Oppo , Vivo ) was making cheap DVD players.

Even if u have small bezels, so what? U can't gain the original full experience and make use of the small bezels especially on entertainment applications because of the 18:9 aspect ratio, unless u are willing to crop the video which I think most wouldn't, even my friends using GALAXY S9s don't want to crop the video but instead watch it with big black bars that look like big bezels. Compared to GALAXY S9 it is considered big, huh. If that is the case, shouldn't u be expecting MORE from SAMSUNG? If u say the HTC U12+ have "big" bezels as compared to GALAXY S9 when it is actually small, why not call the GALAXY S9's bezels big too if u are to compare it to the VIVO APEX, hmm? Last words, it is "compared" and not "compaired", u immature
