Usually i don't say this kind of things but... for once happy watch those vomit a lot after waste their money in something and now watch this an a better investment and a threat of the future. So, to live with it. Enjoy yourself.

Common knowledge when it comes to Xiaomi. Older phones probably get only a MIUI update while the Android base stays the same

For older phones it could mean that the Android base version won't change. If you have a phone running MIUI 9 with a base of Marshmallow or Lollipop don't expect an Android upgrade when MIUI gets updated.

MIUI 10 faster than lighting is based on Android not on oreo as each of its device android internal system is not upgraded instead a layer over top of MIUI is added like MIUI 9 based on Marshmallow for Redmi Note 3 and Xaomi did not upgrade it to Android 7.0 anytime stop reporting these partially false software stack development.

I hope they will add some new goods. MIUI 9 brought performance improvements and stability, but there were no new features. MIUI 8 introduced a lot of features, but it was eating a lot of RAM. Actually, it will be enough if they change only toggles and notifications as we already saw and keep the other things untouched.
I am pretty sure they will throw a lot of efforts on the AI, but for me this is doubtful benefit. In the camera direction, it replaces the scene modes from the cameras for last 20 years, which is nothing revolutionary, but its more difficult to be implemented in a phone, since the aperture cannot be managed and they have to apply software corrections on the jpeg. Still silly if takes a lot of efforts, cameras are good enough to be operated manually. On the other hand if this AI is used for something else, not for the user, but for the companies, then it should be banned from Android at all.
But I am waiting for MIUI 10. I can't imagine I can use a phone without it. When Xiaomi started, they were claiming they are focused on MIUI, not on the phones they produce. The tings changed from this moment, they became huge player. I don't like their phones anymore since they are trying to satisfy the taste of the people in Asia - whatever they make, it has to be huge. But MIUI is still good.
