redmi without 4000Mah battery is not redmi

Are you kidding me? Those specs don't match the photo, its a Redmi note 5 with some stupid white screen protector on, seriously can't you see the Bluetooth icon chopped? The tenaa specs must be real but that phone can not be 147mm. If ugliness had a physical form, this'll be it. Put the cameras back in the middle like Note 3 and 4 and stop with this blatant ripoff, I'll gladly buy a phone with bezels and stereo speakers but none of that notch bullcrap. If someone around me buys this shit, I'm cutting all my ties with them.

Boy, they managed to make a total mess with their model nomenclature and series...nobody knows what is what now...

Why notch the screen if its components can be fitted within the top bezel (since it's not really that thin)

Prometheous, 23 May 2018This notch combined with that humongous bottom bezel is jus... moreIt's not the problem, because that's probably just as typical as we see on other Android phones.
What probably makes it ugly is the fact that the bezels are white, which literally exposes the damn bezels of the phone.

Dude, 23 May 2018Lol that's one horrible design. Also, still the plastic cap... moreSpot on!
I thought my Redmi 5 Plus would finally be the last of the Redmi series to have that kind of design, and I was expecting the successor to be full metal unibody (including the sides) with antenna strips like what we mostly find nowadays in most metal smartphones.
Guess year by year, Xiaomi gets more and more disappointing really.

I'll have to wait and see what others are saying, that Xiaomi's support is the longest, that even 5-year old phones are still receiving updates.
This is my first experience with a Xiaomi, and so far, I have a mixed bag feeling of it being a good or bad device.

sadh, 23 May 2018That back design is so damn overusedAnd horribly-placed.
When it can be in the center where it gives off a balanced look, it must look close to an iPhone, because.....well........it's an iPhone!

S0H4N, 23 May 2018People are gonna hate that notch but I'm okay with that bec... moreIt's not that we hate the notch, but the thing here is that we basically had no problem and never complained that much when we only had slim top and bottom bezels. Some misconceptions like durability were questioned, but it was proven to be not a problem, and so the trend was fully accepted.

Then all of a sudden, that greedy fruit company comes out with an anniversary phone that looks nothing like what they would actually do, and after just a few months, many OEMs already started following suit, as if it was a requirement that they have to fulfill to succeed.

Now, to make it clear, our only reason why we dislike this horrendous thing is that we didn't ask for it; OEMs just slapped it onto our face and we had to deal with it, even if we don't like it at all.
Another is, it's completely pointless, like why does it have to be something that's covering a portion of the screen? As if there was any content that was made in that way, what's the point?
Third, it basically was done because a popular brand did, and they thought that it's cool when you have it on an Android (which makes me curious, because I find dual speakers on Android to be cooler than a notch).
They only do what the fruit does instead of actually trying to have their own creative yet innovative and unique ideas that are better than what others are doing (ugh, I miss those days....).

Notch isn't actually going to be as successful as it seems, but it is because of the blatant Chinese OEMs, and now even a South Korean one, who makes profits by doing what others do.

That back design is so damn overused

Let's hope it's not the final design. I prefer notchless screen, even with some bezels as the compensation.

Lol that's one horrible design. Also, still the plastic caps on the back top and bottom. Roflol.

Whole concept of notch is to maximize the screen by shrinking top bezel. Reason behind notch with top bezel is beyond my comprehension.

People are gonna hate that notch but I'm okay with that because you can't expect it to be perfect since it's entry-level budget phone. It's nice-looking if you ask me. Don't know why people hate notches!

                            Stock Android? 😍

Notch. I don't like it and I don't find it useful, but okay.
                              But making it white......Gosh!

This notch combined with that humongous bottom bezel is just next level ugly.

All notches are terrible, but this is the worst case so far.

This phone is worse than the Redmi 5(except if some people prefer smaller screen, notch+bezel).
